I made the mistake of watching one of the ESPN morning yelling shows and Stephen A. Smith and the other two people were making fun of the Browns and saying it was a terrible hire.

A lot can change in 12 months. Monken went from being considered one of the best OCs in the NFL to a buffoon, all because Lamar Jackson forgot to train in the off-season and got lazy.

Monken wasn't the problem.

I don't think he's good HC material, but what do I know? And, Cleveland???

I think it was a good hire but Monk made a mistake taking the job.

And the falcons hired there coach who was at Cleveland and the OC who had a losing record, and think they will turn Atlanta around, not damn hardly. This is like back in the day when the falcons and saints would trade players thinking they would get better. Hell they were the two worse teams in the NFL

And missing a ton of context. He also won a playoff game in Cleveland which is next to impossible, with much less talent than we have. He also won COTY 2x.

A more reasonable take would be, he did more with less, and has a vision for the team that matched what Matt Ryan and Arthur Blank wanted.

If we had even a semi competent HC this year we make the playoffs.

Again, it's a lazy arse take. The real concern is who will be our QB to start the season.

Was his only chance to live out what I'm guessing is a lifelong dream. He wasn't getting any other HC job this year or any other year.

His lifelong dream is probably to make HC level money.
I would guess that if he could make that salary as OC, he would.
We will see how well he does at Cleveland but after his stint there, I think he will either retire or take another OC job.

My main conern is with the coordinator hires.

Cleveland had a top 5 defense and a bottom 5 offense, so Stefanski is bringing the offensive coordinator with him but not the defensive coordinator lol.

The DC wanted the HC job so he will leave Cleveland. He's good so some other team will hire him quickly.

Browns wouldn't release Schwartz to interview somewhere else. In the NFL teams only have to let assistants interview for upgrades. In other words, they wouldn't be allowed to say no if someone asked to interview him as a HC but could deny requests to interview him as a DC.

The Deshaun Watson trade really screwed the Browns roster. Jesus Christ himself couldn't have coached that team to 7 wins last year.

It’s the Falcons, it’s what they do and have always done, there was no better way to put it. They score here coach has a losing record, So he made a playoff game that means nothing compared to to his record. But you keep believing that one day, just one day they will go on a long winning streak, And before you say it, yes I know they made the super bowl, but until they win a couple it doesn’t mean a thing. I’ve been watching the falcons since the 60’s. They’re always the same
