The other choices that probably account for the gap:

Herschel isn't senate material, I'm not voting for a Senate candidate"

Herschel isn't senate material, I'm voting for the Libertarian" which in part explains the runoff.

I was fishing when I created this thread. Quite frankly I wasn’t expecting to see a. Walker is a terrible candidate nor b. Trump behaves like a petulant child.

Whats up with Trump threatening DeSantis?

My free advice to Herschel Walker if he wants a shot at winning this runoff:

-Invite Governor DeSantis up for some campaign rallies near his northern border
-Thomasville, Valdosta, Brunswick or wherever
- And make sure to do one of them next Tuesday at the EXACT same time Trump makes his stupid announcement

-Just imagine the media falling for this in their effort to hurt Trump, but inadvertantly propping up Herschel

Herschel needs to realize Trump is finished and weaponize his downfall to his advantage and let DeSantis drag him over the finish line like Trump hasn't been able to do.

This of course depends on whether or not DeSantis wants to tarnish himself by getting involved with one of the worst political candidates in history of the galaxy

If the Dems were rigging the ballots then why the frick would they just not rig for both? Good fricking God your logic so flawed. You ever think that it might just be that many Republicans are tired of pro Trump republicans? Are we going to do this with every election now? Start to lose and cry fraud

No there isn’t, there just wasn’t a big red wave because shocker, most Americans are pro abortion rights, pro student loan forgiveness, and hate Trump. Want proof just look at how well Kemp and DeSantis did both who told Trump to piss off

Pubs have taken Congress, stand a very good chance of taking the senate, got huge support from the hispanic community, and flipped many deep blue areas.

Thats a wave.

What is popular is not always right. Would you at least admit that general statement is true?

This depends upon one's definition of "right". But now we are heading down the path of moral relativism.

Certainly, the above statement is true IF we hardwire "right" and "wrong" into absolutes.

Abortion is a fantastic political money maker… if most Americans were pro abortion it would not be.

And student loan forgiveness? Where do you get your news?

I had to go to Walmart for something earlier this morning. There was this fellow in there with crumbs all over his face dressed in what looked like pajamas pushing a cart filled with family sized bags of Cheetohs, a couple cases of off-brand sprite, and a mega-pack of xxl tighty whities. As he stood there breathing audibly, aggressively scratching deep into his arse crack and blocking the entire aisle so that I couldnt get around him, I thought to myself, “man, i sure wish i could engage him in a conversation to get his views on politics.” But I was too shy to do it and was also in a hurry. And also i remembered there is an internet now where i can read insight from his cousins on-demand.

Herschel off the hook now for senate control, thankfully for him

How come the vote counts that take the longest always seem to flip to a democrat though? On the weekend when the bread and circuses
are going? We just going to sit here and keep taking it probably?

50-50, at best. Kamala holds the deciding vote.

She's blue, da ba dee da ba di.

That the Republicans didn't even flip the Senate, from a political science perspective, is very curious.

High inflation, gas through the roof, president with Alzheimer's (we've seen this before, though), unpopular Covid protocols and the Senate doesn't flip.

Is it the selected candidates (they are pretty bad)? The endorsements? The messaging? The people themselves? Apathy (that's me!) Straight up cheating (never to be discounted, on a localized level, easier on a national scale, now, with software running things)?

My theory? The Republicans who love Trump, REALLY LOVE TRUMP. Very vocal. But, it's not the entire party; in fact, the percentage that do may just be a vocal minority, at this point. The problem with Trump (maybe), at this point, is that he is now, basically, Hillary Clinton.

What??

Yes. In that he can turn out the vote. On the other side. People will vote just to vote against him or the perceived threat of Trump. I'm certain that this type of vote is what elected him in the first place: people voting against Hillary, rather than voting for Trump.

Right, wrong, whatever, Trump is probably toxic to the party at large, in that the party may be what is best for the country, but it matters not if it is unelectable because of the perceived figurehead.

I also believe that abortion turns out the vote, and with the Supreme Court ruling, it, perhaps, turned out those people who want "choice" in much higher numbers. Polling certainly seemed to imply this after the ruling.

All in all, it's rather stupid to live beneath a system to where an election in Arizona can worry the people of Georgia so very much.
