Yupp. I know a lot of people will put Gurley as #2 all time behind HW as we all know Gurley is a better RB, but to me, Chubb is #2 just because he did everything the right way and gave so much to the program.

Maybe...I think pre injury Chubb was better than Gurley. If he gets it all back I think he's a better back than Gurley.

Gurley was transcendent, Chubb loyal and efficient.

I couldn't agree with you more. In addition to total yards From what Chubb had accomplished off the field with keeping his nose clean, recovering from the injury AND coming back for his senior year there really is no comparison.

Agree with this. Gurley's 4 game suspension in 2014 was a major disappointment. Then of course he jumped to the NFL his Senior year which I don't blame him of course but Chubb and Michel came back for their Senior seasons and became more highly committed DGDs.
I would add that one of the reasons for our apparently underachievement over the years compared to our recruiting rankings is all too often some our best players have not been on the field for a variety of reasons.

Part of Gurley’s reasoning for going NFL was our failure to re-recruit him for his senior year, which is hard to do when you throw him to the wolves during the autograph situation.
Most schools would have circled the wagons around him.

Ehhhh
I mean I wouldn't call brett millican a better RB than knowshon just because he played 4 years to knowshon's 2.
Great argument to have though either way comparing 2 excellent RBs. IMO, I think Gurley takes the #2 spot because I don't really feel there's anythign chubb can do taht gurley can't also do. I think Gurley was more of a home run threat though, was a bit better as a receiver, and was also a dynamic returner (although to be totally fair to chubb, he's never been asked to do that).

Let’s also not forget where Gurley came from.... single mom with 6 kids living in single wide in rural NC and a brother in prison, truly poor family.... so he is entrapped by a shitheel for $600 and gets essentially thrown off the team, then an agent shows him the money.... good for Todd and frick Richt and McGarity.

not really sure that's relevant to how good a RB he is

I think Deep is referring to some on here shitting on Gurley for his suspension. Yea, I was disappointed as anyone but there's a lot worse players do these days.
IMO, Gurley is definitely the 2nd best RB I've ever seen at UGA. And I'm old enough to remember watching #34 on tv.

Gurley was just a grown man playing grown man football from the moment he stepped on campus. He was just a different physical specimen than Chubb.
That said, Chubb is a DGD for sticking around for his senior year and he deserves all the good things that will come to him for how he's balled out on and off the field.

Wish I could find the overhead shot of that TD run isolated. I thought that was a nice view of Chubbs last TD run at Sanford.

He deserved every bit of shite laid on him. Self serving first and foremost. Otherwise, he wouldn't have been selling shite knowing the possibility of trouble. And don't give me this horeshit about where he was from, either.

By this logic, we should think less favorably about any players that smoke weed (whether caught or not) considering they know the potential for trouble from doing it.
So basically just about all skill position players at every school in america coast to coast.
YOu can think less of gurley for what he did but it doesn't diminish what he did on the field, which is really all I care about. And btw if you don't think players at UGA and elsewhere are finding little ways to game the system you're crazy.

When I was 19 and 20, I cringe to recall all of the amazingly selfish and stupid things I did.

Agreed - which makes it even more remarkable to see what kids like Sony and Chubb have done (or NOT done) during their time at GA.

Yet another reason to appreciate and respect Chubb more. He's not some opportunist import. Chubb has Georgia in his veins.

Its hilarious that you defend him so.
