I don't know that there was anyone even remotely close enough to AJ

terrence was our stat leader in pretty much every category before AJ got here. He set a handful of all-time SEC records as well that have since been broken. TE also has a better season that AJ ever had here. Not to mention TE won a lot more of note than AJ.

With that said, of course I think AJ is the best WR we've ever had. But I don't care about things like suspensions or length of tenure. I just think he was better.

I expect this nonsense from Alacowboy and JD.

But meansonny is better than this. I'm disappointed.

I don't care about this argument at all, but that is one of the dumbest things I have ever read.

So the handful of you in here that subscribe to this logic as a reason Gurley shouldn't be higher on some "all time uga rb list", I assume of course that you think AJ Green isn't our best WR either? I mean he sold a jersey for money and also was suspended 4 games and left school early, meanwhile other guys gave their all for 4 years without any trouble. That's how it works right?
Plus those are probably the same people who think that players shouldn't be paid while the SEC is making 1/2 a billion dollars a year off their stars. All Gurley did was sign his own name, but lets throw him under the bus.

No. All Gurley did was break an NCAA rule that resulted in a 4 game suspension. We certainly needed him in that Florida game. Might have brought us a W instead of that L.
I never said he wasn't a great player. But I did say he let the team, fans, and school down.

Because Marshall, Chubb, and Sony weren't good enough?

You've just admitted who the better running back is, even though you didn't intend to.

I just responded to the "giving the heart and soul to the dawgs" bit.

Chubb absolutely fits that much better than Gurley. Not any different than Tebow for the Gators. It is what it is.

Arguing top 5 lists or Mt Rushmores is for amateur radio hosts. We all have opinions, and it is easy fodder. No one is changing minds.

So Gurley didn't sign his name? We got Mr Crab legs and Scam Newton able to juke the NCAA but Gurley and AJ Green are the only ones to get punished. Thanks Richt for hanging your guys out to dry.

Again, so fricking what if Gurley signed his name? The SEC is making 1/2 a billion dollars a year off their players but the 2nd best RB is gonna get busted for signing his name. Yea makes total sense. I bet you blindly follow all the rules and do no critical thinking there bub.

So you admit again, that Gurley is the 2nd best RB in UGA history behind Walker. That is 2 times in a row you admitted Gurley is the better RB. WTF is wrong with you? Your trolling skills are slipping there bub.

Take this BS to another thread.

One league has amateurs. One league has paid players. Get pissed at the NFL for discriminating against kids like Gurley. At no point was college football ever about employees. Call Blank and bitch at him about how hard it is for 18 year old athletes.

The rules are the rules. Don't like that weed is illegal? Too bad! You're going to get punished if you light up. Don't like that you can't make a buck on your name? Too bad! The rules say you can't do that.

This isn't about some utopia where everything is fair and Communism works for a change; we live in the real world where actions have consequences. If you don't want to play by the rules of the game, quit the game. Don't complain how the rules are unfair and then proceed to ignore them and get annoyed when you have to pay the price.

I can see both sides of this argument and I’m not saying one side is right and the other is wrong. I will say that only those on one side of this argument are deflecting, and purposely ignoring inconvenient truths which, if acknowledged, significantly weaken their side of the argument.

Again, in the real world, people that make 1/2 a billion dollars for a company, they get paid though right? How does it work in the real world? Does your job give you shite, or do they pay you and you make your own decisions on what to spend your money on? You can defend the NCAA all you want for making records profits off these KIDS, but paying them is just a no-no! I guess you just blindly follow rules without doing any critical thinking for yourself? I guess if you were in Germany and they told you it was your job to round up all the jews and murder them, you would do it right? You know, b/c its your job. frick critically thinking for yourself.
