I don't think there's really anything to elaborate on. He hasn't really produced like we'd hoped but apparently does do well in practice. Let's also remember that 90% of the buzz abotu him coming in was simply that he's tall at 6'5". As a recruit he was a 3* barely ranked in the top 100 at the WR position.

And yet a lot of people on this board can't believe a low 3* receiver has not performed like a 5*.

Have you forgotten all of the drops Hardman had? 2017 regular season loss to Auburn ring a bell?

Imagine if we would have lost at Notre Dame the first time around. But we won, so a lot of people forget about that Hardman drop.

You do know that was Godwin that made that circus catch, right?

ETA
Or maybe you are referring to how the whole season would have changed if we had gotten beat?
But, I do remember a lot of our fans complaining about Hardman and his dropped passes, too. Glad we stuck with him, though.

Landers has blocked well. I think that might be the most important thing with him.

I know I’ve had a couple drinks, but you don’t drink so I’m going to guess this miscommunication is on me.

I meant, Mecole had that massive drop after Lorenzo’s sack and FF.

That and his size. I suspect Cager will step in when he gets acclimated better.

I guess I am just surprised that so many of our fans find it necessary to criticize a low 3* Georgia player so much on a message board. We turn on our own players faster than a snowball melting in July.

So a guy in his 3rd year in the program playing over 2 true freshmen, a dude who's been hurt and a 1st year transfer is surprising? He may be playing by default right now.

Max effort, like laying out for a tough catch rather than sticking one arm out and pulling up. It's almost like he wants every ball right in the breadbasket. But then he'd probably drop it.

I won't shite on a kid just because he isn't as talented as other kids but lack of effort is totally unacceptable.

And yet nobody is criticizing the 5* and 4* players you mention? Yes, if he is as awful as you are trying to make him out to be, it is surprising.

Lets face it....Robertson, Cager, Pickens and Blaylock are all playing. It's not like they can't play. But Landers is out on the field with them.
Don't try to frame it into something it isn't.

Which is what low 3* players do. You do realize that is why some are rated 5* and some are rated low 3*, right?

Then that is on the coaches. They are the ones putting him on the field.

Come on dude. Think about what you are saying before you say it. Think it through logically.

He’s 6-5 and runs a 4.4. He also dominates an awesome group of dBs in practice. Stars in high school make no difference at this point. Deandre Baker is a great example of what getting the snaps in practice and games can develop lower ranked high school players. The problem I see is that he seems to lack effort and that is inexcusable.

I'm not sure which team Landers was playing for.

Landers almost ran into Simmons on Notre Dame's first punt and, then again, he did the same on the punt that Simmons muffed.

Landers should only see the field again at garbage time.

It wasn't. I just reread your post and understood. My bad.

Yes, you are correct. Seems Mecole had several drops earlier in his career, too.

And, fwiw, just because I don't drink doesn't mean I think clearly sometimes.

Yes, and no. It still gives you an indication of where a kid is talent wise.....typically. Obviously it is not foolproof, but it seems to be spot on concerning Landers.

Not all of them. not everybody develops at the same rate or degree.

Should never ever be on the field over Pickens.

Careful, I called Landers out last week and some folks didn't like it.

I called him out a few weeks ago on a facebook UGA page and got crucified, as well. All I said was the guy had hands like frying pans. Maybe that was harsh, but it sure doesn't seem like his head is in the game at times.

Maybe somebody touched on this in an earlier post, but Kirby wants a complete WR out there. One that will block downfield, awareness on the field and plays with high intensity. I don't think Landers has that right now.

That's fine. I think you are all either putting words in my mouth, or just don't know the point I am making.

I am saying that apparently the coaches see something in Landers or he wouldn't be out there....and that he is playing at the exact level he was forecasted to play at according to his rankings.

You guys seem to think he should be playing on the level of Pickens, Robertson, Blaylock, etc.

And....the last point is...if you all think he is that bad, then criticize the coaches for putting him out there. Don't criticize the kid that the coaches are tell to go out there. Either the coaches are not doing their job, or Landers is doing stuff that maybe...MAYBE the TV is not catching/showing....or you are not seeing it if you are at the game.
