in games. My guess is he's lights out in practice but he just looks like a liability and waste of snaps in game situations. Someone please tell me I'm wrong and why

It's all Coley's plan to make the other teams underestimate him and vanilla something something.

I don't think there's really anything to elaborate on. He hasn't really produced like we'd hoped but apparently does do well in practice. Let's also remember that 90% of the buzz abotu him coming in was simply that he's tall at 6'5". As a recruit he was a 3* barely ranked in the top 100 at the WR position.

I certainly did not realize he ran a 4.4 40yd dash. I was in Nashville and Vandy gave him a 10 yd cushion and he went 8 yds and out on 3rd and 10? That's not like a guy that's been in the system for his 3rd year. CCH is too good at coaching up WR's for that. Is he just a classic mental case?

Careful, I called Landers out last week and some folks didn't like it. LINK

Some guys are good all the time, some are good only in the games, and some can only do it at practice. He may just be a practice player it happens.

But does it seem to you that he's giving it 100% out there or that his head is in the game? It has got to be frustrating for CCH and CKS to see him give it all in practice and get lost in the lights at game time. I can see how they would feel like giving him more PT would help, but it makes me sick to see balls thrown to him that could be thrown to Pickens, Robinson, or Blaylock

I can understand the rest but he does not realize that a wrs job is to help the QB out. Not every pass is going to be on the money.

I haven't thought about that. He doesn't block downfield as well as the three receivers I mentioned earlier either.

He's not a bad player. Everybody is comparing him to all the 5* we have had recently.

Hardman
Godwin
Pickens
Blaylock

I mean we can go on and on. Is he a great player? no. Did anybody expect him to be a great player? If so, then that's on you.

He is exactly as he was billed to be...a tall 3* receiver. He is solid, but not great.

I didn't see it then and i am not going to read it now. It's ridiculous to expect 5* performance from a middling 3* receiver.

Coach Coley would disagree. Everyone is expected to perform well.

And he has performed well. If he has not, then it is on the coaches that keep putting him out there. He is performing above his star rating, imo. He's fine. We have just gotten used to seeing all of the 5* receivers perform. You can't expect that from him. If we get it, great. The fact that he is on the field with all the talent we have says a lot.

What exactly do you consider "fine"? All I've seen out of him is less than max effort and a few drops. I think he'll be lucky to get playing time going forward assuming a few other guys stay healthy.

Well, considering we have a crap load of 4 and 5 start receivers on the team and he is getting a lot of playing time....

Have you forgotten all of the drops Hardman had? 2017 regular season loss to Auburn ring a bell?
Drops happen. Less than max effort? I haven't noticed it. But are you saying our coaches are not doing their job?

Considering we have Pickens, Blaylock, Simmons and Robertson, I am shocked he has gotten any playing time at all.

3 5* receivers (Pickens, Robertson and Blaylock), a 4* (Cager) transfer and a receiver that has been in the system for 4 years(Simmons), and the coaches keep putting Landers out there. Apparently because they feel sorry for him.

Look. Nobody is saying he is a great receiver....or even a very good receiver. But either he is doing something well, or our coaches don't want to win. I am shocked he is getting on the field at all....and yes, I will be surprised if he sees the field a whole lot going forward, too. I mean...there is an awful lot of talent that SHOULD be ahead of him.

Exactly what are y'all expecting from a low 3* receiver?

He was never supposed to be nor expected to be a game changer.
