Look at how we’ve involved Bowers and then look at Washington.

Bowers is also way way better than Washington as a receiver.

We ran 3 straight plays designed to get Washington a touch last week. He wasn’t open on any of them. Granted, he’s open just by being big and I do think we should target him a bunch this week. We definitely need to worry about him transferring, but we’ll still be solid at the TE position regardless. Bowers will be drafted higher than any other TE in college football right now.

Then there’s also Arik Gilbert. At this point, we don’t know what position he would play if he does play.

Jeez Man. Give it a break. Leave the sophomoric criticism to Auburn, they're good at it.

He won’t don the red and black. Besides, do you really want that much of a cancer on a team with great chemistry?

I keep hearing this and other comments as well. Not saying its wrong but what exactly has he done to be such a bad guy other than having issues between the ears? I did read the "rumor" he went bonkers at practice and wanted to fight Kirby. Other than that I have not heard one thing about drugs, domestic violence, theft, beating up his bitch, DUI or any trouble with police.

LSU fans said it constantly when he transferred. Whatever. I hope he plays for us and does well. Go Dawgs!

He's a tight end who whined about blocking too much at LSU, left at the first sign of adversity, tried to go to Florida and then tried to play here.

Something about this guy just screams NCAA investigation coming. Kirby needs to tell him to kick rocks and get on with the job at hand.

Let’s compare Mackey award finalists to UGA’s Brock Bowers…

Trey McBride
- 1,008 ttl yds
- 12.0 avg.
- 1 TTD

Charlie Kolar
- 658 yds
- 12.4 avg.
- 5 TD

Jalen Wydermyer
- 491 yds
- 13.6 avg.
- 4 TD
—————————————
Bowers
- 607 yds
- 16.4 avg.
- 9 TD

If the award is for the best Tight End at the end of the 2021 season, its clearly Bowers. Mackey people are simpletons.

He did make it clear that he wants to play WR here. I recall Smart commenting about this, maybe in a skeptical way, saying that you have to be able to "sustain" in a different way at WR versus TE.

He's definitely an impact player if he can play; would be nice if his mental issues get fixed but I'm not sure what's happening in that regard.

I called it over a month ago. They've never had a freshman win (and I don't even think as a finalist)... If there was a criteria they could use to exclude him, it was going to be used.

Any truth to this?

He looks like a young Travis Kelce. Kid is absurdly good. I don't know of too many other teams who are willing to run a jet sweep with their TE.
