Has anybody heard how serious the injury was?
In case you have not heard anything....he apparently suffered a lower leg injury in a motorbike accident. That's all the details I know.

Maybe it’s just in my head but I swear we’ve had more than our share of guys get injured on atv/dirt bikes and scooters.

I only remember Sony on the atv crash. He stayed banged up that season too. I think he fractured that arm again and separated his shoulder.

Not the brightest move on his part to be engaging in high risk activities...considering his stated intention to try to start as a freshman.
Guess kids will be kids.

Massaquoi lost four fingers on his left hand in one, but it was well after his UGA days.

Jake Rowe is saying it could be a 1-2 month recovery so looks like he won’t be competing for that open Starting spot
Geez,OL is the very last place we can afford attrition or injuries. Our depth is razor thin.

Jones injury is a blow because he was expected to compete for a starting position at OT. But razor thin though?
I'm glad we have an athletic DT QB running the offense this year.
OT
Jamaree Salyer
Warren Mcclendon
Xavier Truss
Owen Condon
Tate Ratledge Freshman(Best fit might be at OG)
Chad Lindgerg Freshman
Broderick Jones(Injured)
C Trey Hill
OG
Ben Cleveland
Clay Webb
Warren Ericson
Justin Shaffer
Sedrick Van Pran Freshman

Maybe not razor thin but it's thin.Im already having flashbacks to what happened
at the Wideouts last year.We looked fine going into spring even after losing Ridley and Hardmen but we were thin with proven talent or guys that had PT.Then we got hammered by attrition and injury and it ended up being our weakest link.
There's a difference between bodies on the roster, freshman and proven depth.

I thought Van Pran was a center?

Erickson, Van Pran and Webb were all centers and are being cross trained....well, I think Van Pran is thought to be solid as a center, but any of those guys could play center probably. Center is a tougher position than many think. Possibly the toughest overall OLine position.
They all have their challenges, but typically the center calls blocking schemes, and then has to hike the ball (long snapper style in todays shotgun formation) and then pick up their blocking assignment almost immediately. There's a lot going on with centers.

I recall that 2 players were injured several years ago. One was Ray Drew, he was injured in a moped crash. Severe cut/gash on his calf supposedly kept him out his freshman or sophomore season. I can’t remember the 2nd player.

Didn’t we have a quarterback get injured in a fishing accident

I'm not saying that you are wrong about the accident. I just dont know how much it would have affected his playing time.

Good post.
It is common for centers to work at guard (usually RG) before the starting spot opens at C. Hill was our RG in the SECCG (4th string) back in 2018.
