When speaking about Miami's OL, Carson Beck told their offensive coordinator,

‘Man, I’ve got to get used to all this time.’

LINK

Wow....that ought to provide some good billboard material to light a fire under our OL, you'd think. Granted, 4 regulars from the line that protected him last year are gone, so I guess nobody but Greene is gonna take it personal.

Well… the O-Line played awful last year. Here’s hoping these young and more talented (paper) group plays up to the standards. If so, good things will happen this year.

He doesn't take hits in practice so we'll see how much time he gets in real games vs practice.

I'm not saying our OL was great last year (it wasn't) but I also think this comment is meaningless and is clickbait.

The bulletin board material is really for the ACC opponents they play, him saying "ya'll can't get me, my OL too good" isn't lighting a fire under the UGA OL, it's going to light a fire under his opponents' DLs.

I can't imagine Miami has any advantage in the trenches this season other than playing an ACC schedule.

Cam could run, Beck cannot. I think he doesn't finish the season.

Well, if you read the whole article, it goes on to say that Cam Ward had an average of 2.9 something seconds to throw last year and Beck, at UGA, had 2.5 something. So, technically their OL did a better job of protecting. But as you said, one must consider that this was against weaker ACC defenses for the most part. If Miami was in the SEC playing against Bama and Texas and all the other SEC defenses we play, would they have fared that much better?

But he's not "indirectly taking a shot at UGA's offensive line".

This is a clickbait headline.

Yeah…against ACC defenses he’s not far off. We’ll see how he does against ND week 1.

I won't fault the guy for telling the truth.

Looking across message boards, everyone feels their weakness is Oline. The SEC has the dlines to expose that, not sure the ACC does.

Beck can run pretty well but he just doesn't want to.

So, if you let him get going he can long stride. That said, he has two left feet in the pocket and has a slow acceleration. Reminds me of Derrick Henry, if you let him get doing, you are in trouble, if you get him himmed in, in the back field he drops like a rock.

Stetson has agile feet and got us several tds both rushing and buying time, Beck just took the loss.

He's definitely not Stetson but if I remember correctly in a presser last year he stated that the coaches wouldn't let him run. May not be exact but I remember something along the lines of that

Miami doesn’t want him running either after what they paid. I am really interested is seeing how he responds after the injury. That was potentially career ending to his biggest asset (arm) so he may be a little timid now when it comes to the rush.

He was really clumsy trying to get out of the pocket. Could t get out of his own way. When. He did run it's because the seas parted.

He’s always looked fairly athletic to me when he runs. It’s UTEP but athleticism is athleticism.

Beck is a helluva athlete. Played AAU basketball and baseball. You could tell he's an athlete by the way he executed the quick passing game like a shortstop.

He is just of the mindset "frick you, I'm a pocket quarterback and I ain't running!"

Exactly right. Beck is very athletic. His running ability is significantly better than Gunner's. Beck did say that the coaches didn't wouldn't let him run but when he did run the offense clicked.

Put the crack pipe down, Beck is as clumsy as anyone I have ever seen. He may can run but he struggles to get out of the pocket to run.
