The redshirt after 4 games or threaten to redshirt after 4 games to renegotiate NIL is a thing now.

Definitely revealed itself as a new phenomenon in college football just this week. Should've seen this coming. In retrospect it should've been obvious.

This one is different than UNLV. UNLV was duplicitous. Bear is just screwing up.

Meh, maybe not. UNLV's collective issued a statement that it has fulfilled all contractual obligations to the QB. The school issued a statement claiming that he was asking for pay-for-play payments in violation of state law and NCAA rules.
After reading the "agent's" statements, I'm learning toward the school's side of things.

They also said that the OC had not authority to give verbal promise to pay 100k, which is not special for a P4 QB.
A coach made a commitment then the school reneged. Kid should have left.

I don't think you could be a more self righteous douchebag if you tried

That's what the agent and the QB claim. The school and the collective state otherwise.

I don't think that's accurate. They said the offer wasn't valid because the OC doesn't have the authority and it was never submitted in writing, not that he never made the offer.

Again, that is what the QB and the agent are claiming. The school has refuted those claims.

Where? I just told you what the school said.

The Assistant Coach offered the kid $100k in a NIL deal with Circa Casino group and the school vetoed it. There it is for you....

Wonder how many renegotiations will go down before game 5 when a starting QB is out for the season and a back up doesn’t have NIL or something in that genre?

Chris Doering wondered whether a Cinderella basketball team making the final four might threaten to hold out if not paid off.

UNLV should drop the hammer on the QB with a heavy handed lawsuit. That could help keep it from getting out of hand. Right now it’s so wide open it’s going to keep getting more and more outrageous. Do something to make them think twice.

This has opened the door for lawyers and all other sorts of scumbags to influence the players.
