Are you more optimistic about this season after yesterday or less?

I'm not trying to give any hot take here or anything like that, but I'm actually more optimistic now than I was after the first two games.

Rattler will probably end up being the best quarterback we play all season and he was on fire in the first half.

That second half proved that Georgia still has an extra gear they can get to that no other program in the country has. After the Dillon Bell touchdown, the total yards in the second half was Georgia 240-something and South Carolina 20-something. The new kicker missing a field goal by 45 yards was a buzzkill, but other than that the second half was pretty fricking epic.

The team never panicked. Carson Beck showed that he won't fold under pressure. Georgia needed a game like that. All in all I think that it was a good day.

Less optimistic that the team will be as good as last year’s. Too many weak spots this year, particularly on the OL and there’s clearly a kicker problem.

However, there doesn’t seem to be a dominant team anywhere in the country, so the potential for a threepeat is still there.

^^^ College football is definitely down this season. And a lot of that has to do with Alabama and Clemson. Alabama had such a choke hold on college football for so long, and Clemson was right there with them for about 5 years.

About the same. I knew there would be some growing pains with the changes in personnel. If anything, I think we saw glimpses of how we can still be ruthlessly efficient and deliver the ball all over the field. I’d like to see more pressure from our DL and Beck get into a rhythm earlier though.

Also, need Edwards at 100% and a solid RB2 to develop. Definitely need Bullard back as well,

Same. Expect to win all games during the season, improve as season progresses, and be ready for the championship games. I have no expectations of anything once we finish the regular season. I will just enjoy whatever comes.

Probably not more or less honestly. I htink the narrative is the same as it was week 1, in that we are ridiculously beat up and unhealthy. If we had a full strength lineup I'm liking us against anyone. Wiht the litany of injuries we have we coudl lose to anyone

I wouldn't say that. Pick any random year and there's usually at least 1 but typically 3-4 teams that are head and shoulders above the pack. Clemson is fool's gold and has only ever been elite under dabo wiht a 1st round QB and a pathetic schedule. They're trash. But even with bama and them being down, there's NOBODY after 3 weeks that stands out above the rest.

-Our situation we all konw
-OSU was in a dogfight week 2 against a scrub and hasn't been tested
-UM looks uninspired and has played nobody
-FSU had a notable week 1 win then almost lost to BC
-LSU might be a candidate but got thrashed in week 1
-USC plays zero defense
-Texas stuggled with wyoming

I mean this year is the first time since probably 2007 that you can't point to a team and say they're the title favorite.

My expectations are to win the next game, I am more like Dooley and Munson, too many factors to consider, but Dawgs are a good defensive team.

Clemson was in the national championship game 4 times in 5 seasons and won two of them. That's pretty strong, right?

I mean, read what I wrote again. All 4 times were with deshaun and trevor at QB. The one time sandwiched in between those years they didn't have a 1st round pick at QB they coasted to the playoffs due to a JV schedule then got assthrashed by bama in the playoffs.

Dabo without deshaun/trevor is essentially no better than mark richt.

But to ansswer your quesiton...yes those years were pretty strong. Better than pretty strong, REALLY strong. Not denying that. Simply saying that without that caliber of QB they are mediocre.

I get this and it is a valid point. That said, we did not get to the QB much early last season. When absolutely necessary and the players understand their role....and the coaches feel confident of this we typically start rushing the passer more and getting to the QB more often. I think as the season moves along we will see this improve exponentially.

that wasn't too much of a concern though because we had jalen carter and nolan smith getting to the QB. This is the first year in several years that we aren't littered with obvious 1st round draft picks all over the front 7.

We're talented obviously, adn I wouldn't trade our defensive coaching staff for any in america, but it is slightly concerning some of the the things we've seen so far. Injuries certainly don't help either.

We got punched in the mouth on both sides of the ball, made proper halftime adjustments and came out of the locker room to return to form.

The only game I'm concerned about is @ Auburn in two weeks. We definitely need Ladd back to make our passing game stronger and Bullard to spark our defense.

More optimistic. Kirby must have roasted some arse at halftime but that was a standard KS team whipping them in the second half

this feels like it's going to be year 3 in a row of our #1 receiver basically being out the entire season btu maybe getting a spot game here or there late.

More especially if Ladd and the other injured players get healthy.

More optimistic
New QB, receivers and playcaller but responded to well to being down early
Defense had its moments yesterday but Rattler is special when he's on.
Kicker is a worry but I feel that will be corrected soon or a change is coming
Punter is a weapon.
Special team (other than fg) playing well

I thought we got some good pressure yesterday. Rattler is just fast and slippery. Still put him on the ground a few times but other times we got back there and he escaped.
