From what I've read/heard, he did not make the trip. Sounding like there is a chance that he will separate with the team. Internet rumors are just that, so grain of salt and all that jazz.

On one hand, the kid is clearly immature and makes bad decisions. His poor blocking efforts have been noted at times this season, which we all know won't endear him with Kirby.

On the other hand, Kirby does himself no favors with his approach on offense. Every other team seems to find ways to ensure their stars are key contributors and heavily involved in the gameplan. Kirby is seemingly so afraid of turnovers that he allows teams to take away his weapons on the outside if push comes to shove. Even if we give him a pass on the Fields situation (it's been discussed ad nauseum), if he believes Stet is his guy, you have to find ways for him to still drive a competent passing game in 2020. If we can't do that, I'd rather see a shaky Mathis who at least gives an edge in the run game or a freshman Beck get a real shot.

Maybe Kirby makes me look like an idiot this weekend... If so, happy to concede that I was wrong, but Pickens attitude problems are exacerbated by Kirby's stubbornness.

Hearing Kirby talk the other day, it made me realize why we seem to stall out on offense each year or play weird arse games. 2017 Auburn, 2018 LSU, 2019 USCe, 2020 Bama....

He will completely adjust the O to meet what he thinks the D is scheming. Meaning, line up against UK and just run 30+ times.

Kirby doesn’t make the other teams adjust to us.

We lose so much continuity week to week with the up and down approach.

I am not sure Fields would have thrived in a Kirby system.

Bama runs their system and each week they look the same. You know they are going to throw it and they challenge you to beat them.

We have the same caliber talent if not better across the board as Bama, yet we seem like two opposite teams.

Are you watching the same offenses that I am?

Edit:
WR: Bama
RB: Bama
QB: Bama
TE: UGA
OL: Push

Outside of some of the OL and possibly McKitty, who would start from UGA on Bama's team?

OT:

Did you catch Garcia and Grayson last nt?

Don't think anyone comes within 3TD's of beating em.

Cool. You can keep saying but it doesn't mean it's true.

Nope, but you're right. They are going to be a beast for everyone in the state.

I agree with you in principle.

I dont think there is much variance in OL, RB, and TE between the 2 teams. You undersell the Bama TE and undersell the UGA RBs.

But the level of talent at Bama versus UGA at WR and QB makes the rest of the positions almost irrelevant.

Bama can go max protect with 2 man routes and routinely beat you despite your DC knowing that it is coming.

I am referring to the team as a whole, we do and it’s true. Check the composite rankings.

I can say the same to you, just because you say it doesn’t mean it’s true.

The one big glaring difference the last 4 years has been QB play. We have been nowhere close to their level at the most important position on the field. Saban realized that you can't win with Greg McElroy anymore. Kirby hasn't yet.

I can't name another Bama TE beside Foristall so that's why I said UGA.

Harris, Sanders, and Robinson are better than White, Cook, and Milton/Mac in my opinion.

They blow us out of the water right here. Although, I think our young talented WRs next year might be better than what they have when they lose the 3 stud WRs this year.

They are asking the tight end to execute counter and cross zone. And their tight ends are dominating on the field in those responsibilities. When you can do that, you can playaction off of it. And Bama is highly efficient throwing to those same tight ends as well.

Greatness doesnt have to be a wide receiver playing tight ends (pitts). Bama is executing at a masters level at tight end right now.

I'm not an expert on Bamas personnel.
But white, cook, milton, and mac are showing out. We've just been hampered by some injuries (milton preseason and mac during the season). By seasons end, I think you will be higher on our tailbacks. As for bama, I have no comment other than what I saw 2 weeks ago.

I hear you and I'm not looking at receiving production only because Washington and McKitty have been pretty dang good at blocking. To me, they're blocking better than they are catching the ball right now.

They both have been very solid. Agreed.

Especially compared to Fitz.

Really hoping this isn’t true. It feels par the course for us but who gives a crap what we bring on campus if they all keep leaving and hitting their stride jr year onward somewhere else....

We need to get this developing practice kibashed quickly before we just turn into a high end highway truck stop for people.

If what I’ve been told is true, this isn’t injury related and I don’t see him playing again.

I'm pretty sure Monken read this thread today and thought to himself "yea, we do have great TEs. Lets try lining 3 up on the same side. Brilliant!"
