So pumped for the Ant man. Obviously still has a lot to work on for his game, but this has to be such a cool moment for him.

Hopefully this helps us in recruiting too

Very cool. I don't think the #1 overall pick from any major sport has come from UGA. Herschel probably would have been #1 but he chose to sign with the USFL as a free agent. Would have liked to see Ant-man at UGA another year but good for him.

Question. If we had a number 1 draft pick why was our team shitty?

Because he was 1 of our 3 good players and one of those 3 was a lazy arse

I think you've been exposed to too much agent orange

Hard to me to feel a real connection with Edwards. One and done plus the COVID. Wish him luck regardless and I'm sure it may help a little with recruiting.

His comments about not loving the game were kind of weird. Appreciated the candor though

Same reason our football teams could suck with hines ward, champ bailey, etc on them. If the rest of the team stinks there's only so much they can do.

Big 3 sports all had top 10 picks

Hancock for baseball
Thomas football
Now Edwards

Pretty cool

You need a lot more than 1 great player to win at a high level.

I went to a few games last year and followed the season somewhat actively.

1. We didn't have any consistent big men so were always playing small lineups.

2. The team was fairly young without many older leaders.

3. Edwards was very good, but in general, he was a ball hog and took dumb shots. It felt like he knew he was gonna be a top 5 pick so he was just getting reps.

These major factors(and others of course) made the team very inconsistent. At times we looked like a top 15 team in the country. And at other times we looked like an SEC bottom feeder.

Seems like this describes a lot of our basketball teams over the years. We often have one or two outstanding players but never a complete team.
