Remarkably lazy attempt, almost have to respect it.

One has to wonder what goes through a kid's head to play like that. He didn't even make an attempt at a dive, didn't appear to be running full speed. You can tell after the play that Bennett looked annoyed, and then when Landers went back to the sideline, no one said a word to him. Hankton didn't even acknowledge him, nor did Kirby.

It's really telling that Burton is starting over our upper classmen. Burton, in time I think will be a good player but for now he's making a lot of mistakes out there. Kirby is willfully playing a mistake prone freshman over all our upper classmen WR's and this Landers clip makes it obvious why he's doing that probably.

Did he get on the field the rest of the game?

Pickens would've laid out for that TD bomb, but whatever.

Landers could've had it. All he had to do was put his hands out. Dude gave up.

Shameful.

I’ve said this already but it bears repeating. I don’t think he even knew the ball was thrown to him until it hit the ground. He looked up like he was expecting it and didn’t see it so it was like he didn’t know what to do. I’d almost prefer if I thought he was loafing. But what I think I see is a 3rd year or whatever he is guy that still has very little clue how to play his position.

Pissing away any and every chance at the nfl. He is in the mix on a top 5 team, he could be racking up notoriety yet he looks clueless.

I think that’s a simple case of him half assing because he didn’t expect the ball to come his way. That simple.

If I’m the defense and I see 5 at receiver I’m throwing my worst corner on him.

Bench him and tell him exactly why he's being benched. The guy has the talent to be a top receiver but talent is wasted with lack of effort.

I mean, in the clip you can clearly see he has his head up and he's tracking the ball as its coming towards him.

We need to keep him. At least he will take a pot bust for the team.

Per Kirby: "He lost the ball"
Also said he had a good camp,is talented and helps on special teams.

Obviously lotta of coach speak but if he was "loafing" I think Kirby is a little more harsh on em.

A good coach knows when to push publicly and when to push privately.

Landers has a confidence problem.
A public rebuke does not help.

Stadiums might be a good cure.

Our high school coach had a cure. "Run the steps" he would say. When the guy finished he would say, "I meant start down there," pointing to the other end. Didn't take but one or two runs to get his point across.

Perhaps but the bigger point being is that he isn't a low effort guy or "loafing" on that particular play.

He wouldn't be getting snaps or be on special teams if that was the case.

Landers has screenshots of Kirby texting a cheerleader. Only explanation.

It looked like he slowed down to a jog when the ball was 3/4 of the way to him.
