I did. Over the years Kirby has made me a believer but I remember making that post after the Vandy loss in '16. I was feeling pretty low that day. I didn't believe we'd ever be "elite." I was wrong.

Are you kidding me? UGA isn’t the same program we have been historically. Richt took us to being a top 10 program and Kirby took us to being a national championship contender. UGa ain’t your run of the mill tier 2 program, we have far surpassed that. We will win more.

I’m sure this was posted at a time you were frustrated. However, the premise of your OP pisses me off. However you’re entitled to your opinion. I will always respect that everyone has an opinion even if it’s not at all the truth. I’ve seen you post since this and don’t believe you think this way.

LOL. I remember this post. I was at Vandy game in 2016 and remember talking to some old timer UGA fans after the game. At that point there was talk of firing Kirby. We struggled in every single game that year. It had appeared we took 2 steps backwards. It's pretty impressive that Kirby won the NC in 5 years.

Yeah I felt the need to atone for this after what I said in this thread about Kirby after losing to Vandy in ‘16. I’ve enjoyed the ride the last 5 years and I’ve been squarely on Team Kirby since 2017. I just felt kind of bad about this post over the years and I’m man enough to say it when I’m wrong. We are an elite program and I believe we will continue to contend and win more Nattys in the future. We finally punched through the ceiling and it feels wonderful today. I’m 45 so I was 3 when we won the last one. A lot of years of anger and frustration have been released. I can die a happy man now lol.

I think the most demoralized I've ever been was after the South Carolina loss in 2019. That was the moment I started to wonder if Kirby could do it.
But he got it done.
