Wearing a different color uniform than usual? Not everything has to be given some special name. Was there some catchy nickname the few times under Donnan when we wore different color pants? No.

A "blackout" is when the fans all wear black and the team wears black jerseys. We have only done that 3 times.

Had we won, it wouldn't have been so ugly. Anyhow, my point is: Why do we consider a true blackout just the black jerseys? Black pants are 1/2 a uniform as well.

Ok, so the coach has to call for it ahead of time to be a blackout so the fans will know?

Correct. The very first one against Auburn in '07 appeared to be just CMR calling for everyone in the stadium to wear black. The black jerseys were a surprise to everyone.

Sure it would have, the perception of that jersey may be different, but the uniform is the uniform. It was atrocious (mainly due to the helmet), same as the '11 boise uniforms. I don't care if we beat boise by 50, the uniform was still God-awful. Against Wisconsin in the outback in 97/98 we wore black pants, white tops, and red helmets and I have no issue at all with that combo because it looked sharp. UF 09 looked like shite.

It's more to do with the black uniform in combo with the fans all wearing black. Plus, there has to be some precedent. The original blackout was silver/black/red uniform combo with the fans all wearing black. We did that 2 more times. There hasn't been any other situation where all of that has happened, so that's why logically there havne't been any other 'blackouts'.

Shoes are part of the uniform too. We don't consider a game a "whatever-out" anytime we wear different shoe combos. Anyone who isn't trying to be antagonistic knows what the hell a blackout is.

Yep. I mean we wear white on the road every week, does that make the game a "white out?" No, of course not.

if they sport that bullshite then after having been a staunch supporter of alternate jerseys I will officially give up because the University clearly can't handle that responsibility. Those are fricking hideous.

If you do this you do it right, same jerseys design as now but just black. For once don't frick this up Richt.

The plan was to wear the black pants, black helmets and black jerseys in 2008 vs UF so instead of seeing that bullshite we saw in 2009 we were supposed to see UGA in completely black. But then Richt and co shite the bed in 2008 vs Bama and Richt decided to not bring them out vs UF (good thing too because he yet again got his arse handed to him by Meyer).

Then dumbass inexplicably thought the team needed a boost so those pants and helmets we didn't get to use got brought out vs UF and the rest is history.

According to CMR, they do not have black jerseys or will they get any this year... I say the fans and students should still wear black anyways

That may well be true, but we could get a full roster of black jerseys in a week I promise you.

This. Nike would be all over it. Think about how much money they made on replicas of the last set of blackout jerseys.
