In what world does 29.433 = 0 - 0 - 16 - 0 - 279?

Rules:
1) quality guesses receive a hint
2) the person that solves has to create the next riddle

It is not, but distance definitely plays a role in things.

29.433

Is it a latitude or longitude coordinate?

Not quite...but you may want to grab a calculator for that conversion, and I’m not talking about a 2 pointer.

Since y’all have put out some nice guesses, a clue...

3 of those numbers are pretty sad considering the 1st. One could almost argue that 4 of them are.

Let’s just say when you see the answer it’s pretty sad/ominous.

I, like Jefferson Dawg, am a fan of history. I’m also a fan of statistics.

Beachball hint: If not for a certain gunslinger, we’d all be a little depressed.

As a matter of fact, one figure must be updated. These were all accurate when the riddle started, but now the last number has changed...282.
