I don't think Mizzou has the talent on O this year to put up the numbers they did last year, but I don't know how our O will perform in our first road game of the year that we don't have extra time to prepare for.
Arky scares the shite out of me. I think their strength on O is favorable to our D, but the game comes after Clemson, USCe, UT, and Mizzou. Who the hell knows who will be injured by that time or what our team's mindset will be like.
I think there's a very very slim chance UT or UK beat us, but I could see us playing uninspired ball.
I'm not worried about a loss to Troy, UT, Vandy, UK, Charleston Southern or Tech (probably should worry, but just can't make myself). We should beat Clemson and Arky. We just need to find a way to at least split the other 4.

For all I hate grantham for, his teams could stop the triple option.

But he said that Gurley's conditioning still isn't back to where it was his first year in Athens and that he and Marshall are both doing extra running this summer. Said Chubb and Michel will likely both play.
You could tell in the Florida game this past year how beat up Gurley truly was. It still amazes me how he led us through the rest of the season, especially at Georgia Tech. Also, as much as I love Brendan Douglas and JJ Green (While he was a RB) they cost us Mizzou and Vandy imho. I fully believe Michel and Chubb will see the field early and often in order to prepare them just in case the unthinkable happens.
I also think we won't have a top 6 SEC defense for another 2 years, so 2016. Pruitt is obviously just patching up our defense as of right now, but with some good runs in recruiting I could see us approaching an elite level before the incoming freshman graduate. Let's just hope we can get some momentum to build on this season and try to build on that for the future!

That FL game he was hopped up on so many painkillers they had a puke bucket next to him on the sideline.
Something else pointed out to me by a uf fan on the rant recently, in the gurley clip of the uf player trying to grab the back of his shirt, you know the play, toward the end there is a uf player closing fast on gurley from behind, dont remember his name but he ran in the high 4's at the combine. In other words, gurley was really slow at full speed in that game.

When Gurley was taken to the locker room right after that play I instantly knew he shouldn't of played. The fact he still put up decent numbers while injured like that for most of the year is a testament to the legend he can truly be.

Am I on the Gamecock board? 3-4 losses? If Jesus Christ himself came down and led UGA to a natty there would still be complainers on this board.

think we'll play spectacularly bad against 2 of these 3: @ Mizzou, @ Arky, and @ UK...with an outside shot of laying down against UT at home.
Mizzou lost some serious personnel this year (as you pointed out). I expect that will be a challenging game, but they won't be nearly the team they were last season and I could easily see them dropping 3 - 4 games in conference. It would take an all-time Richt egg laying to lose to Kentucky.
As to Tennessee, they won the games they won last year because of their offensive line. Those guys had combined for over 90% of the starts for Tennessee for the last few years and were a very good group. All 5 of them are now gone. It's going to be a very long year in Knoxville, though they'll be very, very good in 2015 and '16.
UT's big redemption game against Georgia comes in K-ville next year.
So that leaves Arky......
2014, IMO, sets up as a 5 game schedule: Clemson, Carolina, Mizzou, Florida, and Auburn. There are bye weeks in front of the two toughest of those games, they'll still be grinders, but it's hard to imagine coming out flat for either with those open weeks. Clemson sets up about as well as an opener against a major opponent can for UGA - the Tigers lost their offense, the game is in Sanford, and Georgia has all summer to think about revenge for last season. If that game is within 2 TD's, I'll be very surprised.
Mizzou - see above. And Auburn.....this could be the biggest game in Athens in quite awhile.
This is a really good, maybe even championship, schedule - some great home games on there and the bye weeks are in nigh perfect spots.

I don't know about complainers but some are just being realistic. I'd definitely qualify as a disney but even my expectations have been tampered. Not by anything specifically with this team but with all atlanta teams that I root for. It's a constant letdown.

Yea its hard to get your hopes up when you can see the writing on the wall. I deft think we have the talent to be a very good team, but we can't shoot ourselves in the foot like we did last season and lose games because of a ST screw up or missed assignments/tackles.

Grantham never lost to a team running the triple option but pretty much every year we played GT and GSU they had at minimium 300 rushing. One year 400. Last year wasn't a great running output but they also threw for more yards than they did all year.
We may have beaten those teams but the defense sure as shite wasn't the main reason.
And to continue the negative trend in this thread I'll say I still expect 9-3.

Another tidbit, i spoke a higher-up at uga food service at athfest, he says all the players have meals put together by the trainer, they throw it in the trash and load up on chicken wings.
Every day.
I askd what todd gurley eats.
He said "chicken wings"
Sadface

I watched Thomas Brown eat 20 wings and fries at east campus. I don't see an issue here

The issue isn't that these 18-20 physical specimens are eating chicken wings. They're in good enough shape to where it doesn't matter that much.
The issue, if what rig says is correct, is that we STILL seem to have the underlying issue of people not fully buying in. If that is accurate, and the players are throwing away their meals and eating what they want, then apparently some of these turds still don't want to do what it takes to win at the highest level. It's not like izzy mandelbaum giving them a weight routine, this staff has experience winning national fricking titles, they aren't putting these diet plans together for the fun of it. Obviously it has a purpose.
Pruitt said earlier that all of our guys WILL hit their weight/composition. Imagine my surprise when August rolls around now and the word from Athens is "well, for some reason we've got some guys that still aren't there yet.."

If you worked out, hard, almost every day, just about year round...I'm sure you could get away with eating what you want as well!
