Not sure it "worked" so much as it didn't fail.

All of the talk about how amazing our offensive line is is 100% pure rat poison. Until they prove that they can blow the defensive line off of the ball 10 yards, at will, I'm not believing a word of it.

3 TDs on consecutive drives.
Kentucky was beaten physically and mentally. Kentucky bent the knee.
I'd say it worked.

It's hyperbole, to be sure, but how many 4th and 1s have we converted?

I dont think we will be able to trust getting that yard with Trey hill at C this season. He does a lot of things great. Firing off the snap isnt one of them.

So long as we know who we are, we should be able to play accordingly from here on out.

Legit question - do we have a five-star Center that we are currently recruiting? Is one of Pittman's Blue Chip kids capable of being converted into the sort of All-American center we clearly need?

We signed on last year in Clay Webb

Legit question

The center position is a little more than pushing for 3rd and short. A lot more, actually.

Trey Hill is an underclassman. I wouldn't throw him out just yet. FWIW, Webb is redshirting to add weight.

I understand the point about the center's job. Arguably, it can be as complex if not more complex than the quarterback's job. I just haven't seen anything out of Trey Hill to be blown away by his performance, after 7 games. Several years of Gaillard at the position have us spoiled, I would wager

Relying on the final three drives of a game to be your only scoring of the game is - at best - a very, very dicey strategy. "Hope to God that they don't build an insurmountable lead in the first half" isn't a plan, it's the lack of one.

We got lucky that Kentucky got called for a hold, or they very likely would have scored earlier. Does 7-0 change the complexion of the game? Under normal circumstances, no; but in lousy conditions, maybe.

If you're the better team, you don't want to let a lesser opponent stay close. Ask Viktor Tikhonov how that can turn out.

I'm convinced Fromm can't see over the O-Line. Explains why he always looks to the outside and rarely sees open receivers over the middle.

Just a shot in the dark but it would make sense.

Van Pran is the closest thing we have that we’re recruiting.

Could be the case. Fromm is 6'2" and his line is 3-5" taller than he is. Trey Hill is probably the shortest at 6'4".

amazing that kyler murray, johnny manziel, and legions of others have no trouble slinging all over the field but fromm at 6'2" is too short to see.

We also got great field position from a bad punt and an interception. We didn’t have to sustain drives to score on those two possessions.

Exactly! Those guys threw outside the pocket as much or more than they did in the pocket.

Makes absolutely no sense.

Fromm threw for 30 TD's and 2700+ yards with almost the identical O-line last year.

The only thing that's changed is our receivers.

I said in the offseason that Hill was a question mark. And the center is the 2nd most important spot on the OL.
Hill struggled in 2018. A lot. But some overlook that with participation trophies (he started games as a true freshman. He must be great).

I give Hill credit. There are some things that he does extremely well. His hands are extremely strong. He can turn the defenders shoulders with the best of them.

But he has a lot of work to do. He will get there. He is a very talented kid.
