Americus can just tell us who's signing and then we can just close this thread

Got a mock class together. Just trying to narrow it down a bit. Got a spot reserved on the first page of this thread for it.
We'll have recruits back on campus this Sunday.

This is my reserved spot. I will post nothing here after we get the #1 class in 2020.

Anyone know how serious Shipley is about UGA? Seems like he's likely to choose an academic school but I would love to have him.

He's going to CU or most likely ND.

Guess he isn't actually serious about football then if he wants to go to ND.

But a kid going to ND is certainly far from saying they aren't serious about football. Frankly, I don't even think he's that high on our board. There are at least a few other targets we have prioritized above him, so where he goes is somewhat inconsequential. I'd rather see him end up at ND than CU if he is a good player. Less likely to have an impact on us directly.
Also... in looking at ESPN's list, I count 38 players from ND on NFL rosters and 39 from UGA...

Definitely not serious about football.

Correction, serious about winning championships.
If he wants to go the Davis Mills route then best of luck. That's certainly a very responsible decision. There's always a few kids each year who prioritize academics over rings, can't blame them but I think UGA offers a great balance between competitive academics and championships.

Shipley is also a highly regarded lacrosse player. Not sure if that is a factor at all.

Yes, he’s a heckuva lacrosse player. His high school has won three state championships. He was all state as a freshman and plays on the best travel lacrosse team in NC.

Notre Dame was in the playoffs more recently than we’ve been there.

Just say what you mean. If he doesn't go to UGA or another top 5ish program in your mind, then he doesn't care about championships/football/etc...
In your esteemed opinion, what schools besides UGA could he have selected and been serious... Clemson, Bama, Ohio St, LSU? I think it's pretty fair to say that ND is right in that next bunch of programs - Oklahoma and Oregon probably slightly higher, but then Penn St, and maybe Wisconsin (most questionable due to lack of SOS) along with UF and Auburn probably right behind them in terms of current program trajectory? Maybe a few schools I'm leaving out... just going off the top of my head.
Arguably, you could say that for the past 30+ years, kids selecting UGA haven't been serious about winning championships or football... It's just an asinine perspective. It's not like the kid is picking SW Missouri State.
UGA is a great school that *does* offer a good balance between academics and high tier athletics, and I'm glad that Kirby has figured out how to sell the shite out of it to recruits, but this myopic view that anyone choosing another program is somehow making a decision that is somehow ignoring potential to win big in college is laughable.

This is the kind of bullshite that other fans just laugh at some UGA fans for.
I thought we all agreed that he's a butt hurt AU fan since he rags on Pickens so much. Or am I thinking of someone else.

I don't keep track of which shite posters are possible alters.
It's certainly possible?

Thomas Brown is BossBailey.
They are both named after former players and both call Auburn “War Sparrows”.
After Thomas Brown got banned, someone named BossBailey34 joined. 7 DAYS after that account was banned, BossBailey345 joined.
My guy is on his 3rd alter at least

Oh I forgot about that. How silly of me to suggest for weeks before the Tech game that Pickens might have character issues. Then he gets benched in the first half only to start a fist fight in the second half and change the complexion of the SEC Championship game.
Yeah, I was WAYYYYYY out of line with that one.

3* 6'6 265, highest rated DT from Georgia with tons of upside. Bump is inevitable.

Sweet! Love seeing a NE Georgia Dawg!
Where do you project him playing? I'm guessing he has a lot of size to put on at 6'6 265 playing DT.
