I've seen him in person 3 times as Carrollton and Rome are region rivals. He was very good as a freshman and has only gotten better. He's undervalued IMO.

I'll expect his career to have the same trajectory as McBride: a valuable special teams player but not a game changer on the field.

I'm just saying statistically it's unlikely he contributes in any meaningful sense. I'm all ears if anyone wants to give me the name of a white linebacker who was on the All-SEC team last year.
I wish the kid the best of luck; happy he's a dawg but I don't foresee him as a game changer in the future.

Evan Weaver was a unanimous All-American linebacker last year. So was Josey Jewell a few years ago. And Scooby Wright.

Touchdownwire has Luke Kuechly is the 2nd best LB in the NFL. Skin color has nothing to do with athletic ability.

ESPN - #6 ILB 222 overall
247SPORTS rates him as a 3*, the #45 ILB and not national rated. With that offer list 247 will most likely give him a nice bump.

Being white is not a reason. There are a lot of good white linebackers. I personally think the kid is a little slow laterally, but I’m hopeful he’ll be good.
And McBride’s issue is legitimately the complete opposite of the reasons you hear most white LBs struggle with. McBride is unreal fast for that position.
