lol this is probably more important than we're willing to admit but sometimes the choices still baffle me.

It baffles me that anyone would choose Auburn for example. Auburn doesn't offer elite academics or football so why do kids continuously still choose to go there? Like, it makes more sense for a kid to go to Vanderbilt rather than Auburn, at least Vanderbilt offers you a better chance at a successful future.

Basically, if you're not choosing a school based on football then go the academic route. Don't choose a school that offers neither. I think UGA offers a great balance between academics and football excellence. I'll admit, so does Clemson.

There’s still info floating around but without camps and without unofficial visits, there’s just not a lot going on except from the guys who were going to commit early anyway

You do realize the avg starting salary out of Auburn is higher than UGA.....I am not saying their academics are graded out better than ours, but don't act like going there doesn't get you a job

And they have won a NC in the last decade and have come close a couple more times.

Auburn has a great game day experience, good campus, successful program and rabid fan base. For an 18-yr old, it’s easy to see why they would choose to go there.

ETA: it could also be the BJ thing.

Some relief to receive a CB for Tony Grimes after NC picked up a couple this week.

As far as rankings go, this class will top the SEC again. Won't be close this year when it's over.

Btw- Ranked 20th as of now

Just looked at CB and saw good news and a little bad news.

we got CB for Terrence Ferguson(OG) and Chaz Chambliss (OLB) from an Auburn insider but Moliki Matavao (TE) got a CB to Oregon from an Oregon insider.

All have been targets of ours, and I have been fairly confident in all three.

Matavao announces Wednesday and would of been a Dawg if they were taking two tight ends this year. Looks like they are choosing to only take one, which makes sense with the numbers on the roster.

Matavao has family back this way and will be worth following. Especially since it won't be at a rival school. His family also has ties with the coach of the school he's going to pick.

Good news at TE is coming soon though.

A handful will be going public throughout the next few weeks.

I’m reserving my enthusiasm for TE recruits until we prove that we will actually make good use of them once they get here

I knew Matalvo was a target for awhile, but had not heard much lately. TE, unfortunately is one are I have a hard time getting excited about. I realize they are important to the run game, and I really like it when we throw passes to them. It seems to be one of those positions that defenses forget about, and they are open a lot. Maybe with the new OC we will see more action to the TEs.

As always, your input is always appreciated!

Great addition. Kid plays with an attitude, exactly what you want from an in state guy who will probably be a bit overshadowed in this class.

Lunch pale type kid. Will definitely be overshadowed, but most would be considering the ones about to go public.

Being over shadowed definitely says more about the guys in this class than it does anything about Chambliss. He’s a gem for us and and would likely be THE gem for many other schools

One thing that gets overshadowed as well is that they pass on what others celebrate as "gems". They've become very selective.

There's a high priority on character off the field.
The overwhelming majority of this class will be early enrollees. That's a fact.

The vetting process in regards to that are just as important as the evaluations from their performance on the field. Others are basically celebrating 2am calls their coaches will be getting from law enforcement
