What’s Alex Wood been making? Gordo?

On a related note, whatever became of Robert Tyler, Locey, and Kevin Smith? Last I heard Locey was still in St Louis minors and Smith was actually doing well in the Mets system. No idea on Tyler

I know it’s tough but given what happened last year and the youth of this team, we’re in pretty good shape. Like you and many others have said, if we could manage not to shoot ourselves in the dick from here on out (probably not gonna happen) UGA has a good shot at finishing very respectfully this year. Monty Lee at ClemPson was supposed to be the next best thing and bring a title yada yada yada, outside of winning the ACC in his first year followed by losing to Oregon by a million, he hasn’t done shite and the decline is real. At least Strickland is consistent and his teams appear to be getting better every year. I honestly believe our time is coming in the next year or so. There’s some good talent on that team.

We are going to be a good team the next 2 years. What has yet to be proven is if we are a program capable of advancing beyond the regional round. We are clearly good enough to be a routine tournament team (which in the grand scheme of our program is better than we’ve been) but is that all we will ever be under Stricklin? There’s a mental edge that’s missing from these squads and it’s not impossible for the program to develop that but it’s yet to really show up in a consistent way to this point

Clearly we can advance past the regional round. We hit and pitch like we did against Vandy and obviously we can make it to Omaha. I agree it seems to be a mental thing right now. Not sure if thats on the coaches, the youth, the COVID restrictions or what. I guess it's a combination of everything. We need to wrap up this series today and have a good showing the next couple weekends. Hopefully we ride a hot streak into Birmingham

Dawgs jump out to a 1-0 lead in the 1st of the rubber match

Mizzou already flashing their pitching issues with a walk, a balk, 2 HBPs, and a wild pitch.

Bases loaded for Riley King with 1 out

Wagner and Gonzalez seem to be intent on giving it right back.

Wagner must flash something crazy good in practice because he is usually shaky in his starts. Good as Woods has been in relief on Sundays, I wouldn’t mind seeing him get the start

Well, Wagner got out of the jam with a line out, fly out, and strike out in succession.

We are on pace to win this thing 36-0

4-0 Dawgs in the 2nd

Oh cool. Wagner gives up a leadoff single followed by another wild pitch. Almost right where we started in the 1st

Connor Tate, good lord. Just drilled a ball through the uprights in the football practice field beyond left.

5-1 Dawgs in the 3rd

Polk in for Wagner in the third. 2 on and nobody out, in a 13 pitch battle

Fly out to shallow right finally ends it, runners can’t advance
