I see it's in the heart of nola so that somewhat explains the accent. It wasn't regular rural southern black vernacular, which I speak fluently.

I mean I’m happy for these guys though. They’re going to college and doing well by their communities and families. If the kids want to get up there and speak, that’s fine by me. It’s the absurd amount of talking from coaches that bugs me
