If he catches a single pass in a game, we get to hear the announcers say his name. I'm sold already.

What’s do great about him? Legit question. I literally have no idea about the kid. WR? Fast and sure handed? Info brothas.

For one - coaches obviously liked him enough to offer. Two - he’s a 4.5 kid with good size coming from a small school so he likely just flew under the radar a bit. Three - we have 3 top 100 receivers committed and still gave this kid a scholarship offer making him our 5th reciever this round meaning he’s probably at a minimum someone they think can help on special teams. Lastly, he looks pretty damn good on film.

I imagine the issues we had at WR also played a part in taking a 5th guy.

Watch this: McConkey at The Opening camp

Kid had a game this season where he threw 2 TD’s, caught 2 TD’s, ran a punt and kick return for TD’s, and had a pick-6. Responsible for 7 TD’s in one game.

Wow. Just watched his film. Looks severely underrated... probably due to playing in a smaller class... but dude can straight up ball. Really solid pick up. I’m gonna start a campaign: “It’s McConkey
not McCaffery” Hell yeah!

I mean his route running is already excellent. I saw Ringo was clearly impressed. Gonna need a guy with more quicks than straight speed to dominate the slot.

He's listed at 5'11 155. This isn't good size no matter what the classification.

I've heard about the guy but the signing still doesn't excite me.Unless there some severe attrition we're gonna have multiple
Wideouts on scholarship.

Perhaps a future fair catch guy on punt returns?

Isaiah McKenzie is 5'8" 165. He seemed to do pretty well...

He did an interview with Jeff Sentell a few days ago where he said he’s up to 6’0 177.

He said he’s grown 6 inches and gained 50 lbs in the past 18 months, and his doctor said his growth plates are still open, so he’s not done.

He said he was 5’6 125 the middle of his sophomore year. Which is probably why he went under the radar with scouting organizations.

Playing basketball (36" vert) now and is around 160, but he's still growing.
Will certainly need a redshirt year to add mass and strengthen up, but they love this kid.

Isaiah was a 4 star on one of the best HS
teams in the country and runs a legit 4.4

Nice try.

Well, McConkey isn’t 5’11 155, and he also runs a 4.4. And I posted a video of him abusing 4-5 star DB’s at an all star camp. Kelee Ringo is even in the tweet bragging on the kid well before he committed to us.

Not according to this profile 4.56 40
Also from the article Andrew McConkey is a 5-11, 158-pound Wide Receiver from Chatsworth, GA. But perhaps has grown
since the article and they also have a different size.

BTW,Isiah's 40 time is his NFL combine numbers.Little more reliable than HS times
or even camp times.Dont ya think?

Are you actually trying to say he's as fast as Isaiah??

Here’s the DN article on him: LINK

quote:

His best time in the 40 has been 4.44 seconds. That was a hand time by the staff at Louisville. McConkey also ran a 4.56 laser and a 4.12 short shuttle at an Opening regional back in May of 2019.

But even still, 4.56 laser time is damn good too. So is a 4.12 shuttle.

But what is your problem? You come out saying the wrong size, and unimpressive, and then you get corrected and shown crazy impressive film (which there’s more of if you go look), and you’re still trying to stick to your wrong impression.

But whatever, I guess.

I didn't say he was better than IM, I was responding to the comment about his size being an issue. Someone with that quickness that can get separation is going to be an asset. I remember Sony Michel raving about IM and asking the staff to give him a good look and they took him. Similar situation as Ringo and Ladd. Ladd obviously impressed Ringo.

That video doesn't lie... he's making elite CBs at a camp look silly. Should be interesting to see how he can maintain that quickness with the added height/weight.

I quoted exactly what I read in the article.WTF? And when I quoted a 4.5 40 time you immediately said I was wrong and I obviously wasn't.WTF is your problem?

When exactly was this said?

Great, maybe he is a diamond in the rough but I wanna see em on the field first and Im sure as hell not gonna go off overzealous message board scouts.

He'll be great for the team GPA though.
