I know “WE” do. I’m referring more to the football program. What are they waiting on if they want him? What is it that he needs to do to get this cleared up and move on?

Hopefully after the all star game, we will find out. EE starts soon so we should know a lot more by next week at the latest.

As I understand it, we had 14 days to submit the LOI or it is null and void. The 14 day period is over. Either the LOI has been submitted or it is null and void.

Well that doesn’t sound great.

Well the most trusted source, mansell, stated that the LOI has been submitted. Seems like a Kirby/UGA thing now...

Evans is the best HS RB in the country. Not every recruit is going to be a perfect citizen coming out of school.
Anyone would be happy to sign him because he's elite talent wise and once he's signed the paradigm shifts considerably. He'll be a team member and student with expectations, responsibility, and structure. He hasn't waved a gun at anyone or sexually assaulted someone, so I'm not really going to worry about team infractions I know little about.
We can't predict what he'll do in a new environment, and he deserves a clean slate when he comes to Athens.

Evans has homerun speed, which I'm not sure we have at the RB spot right now with the loss of Swift. Maybe Zeus can get his explosion and speed back.

I just wish something would become official and we can count him in or out and move on. This is nuts.

A lot of what Mansell has said has been guesses...or it seems. But if he is right, I would think Kirby is deciding whether or not to honor the LOI and might base that decision on our chances of signing another player.
I'm not going to worry about it, personally. If we get him we will have a big talent, and if he goes somewhere else we might have dodged a bullet.

I feel like this kid’s career is going to follow the Bryce Brown model.
These kids are just overplaying their hand and this almost never works out.

I’ll be honest: I don’t get the trepidation on our part. Set the expectation early that if he steps out of line at any time now that he is officially associated with the university then he’s done. Demonstrate that you want to change and you want to get better and that you can do that if given a chance to get away from home.

Bryce Brown was a bit of a different situstion though. His biggest issue was that he and his brother were tethered to a fat POS who was charging schools for info on their recruitment and when he finally landed at Tennessee and then KSU he didn’t want to work for PT.
I don’t get any of that with Evans. I think the better comparison is Crowell.

Exactly this.

Good points and I can agree with them. Just guessing, maybe we have an eye on another RB that we like and we want to make sure we get one good RB that we an rely on? I don't know.
You make good points, though.

That’s fair. I almost forgot about him. Either way, I think you’re looking at a kid who isn’t going to last at the first school he signs with.

Would that not be Milton?

Agreed, we were giddy AF to land him, but that this point we have a tradition of bringing in elite RB talent in the same class and putting both in the league.

Exactly. We’ve got our safety valve in Milton. We already will have Zeus and McIntosh coming back. If we only had those three, we’re good. Giving Evans a shot couldn’t hurt.
