I liked Burton's videos too. He's the kind of twitchy receiver that we were missing this year. The only other one I've watched recently is Arian Smith and like you said, he looks a long way off to me.
As for Fromm, I hope he comes back, but with the understanding that he has to earn his job this offseason and every Saturday next season. If he has a bad game, I'd really like to see somebody else get true evaluation snaps, not just killing clock.

This isn’t true at all. He led the pac 12 in passer rating in 2018
It is true, In fact he was considered the #6 QB coming into the 2019 season based on his 2018 performance. Just one spot behind Jake Fromm.

We will have some kind of a coaching change after this season. Names thrown out were Hankton or possibly Fountain. Coley will still be around but he may have a different title. Changes will be made.

Barring a significant change in plans, the Miami Hurricanes and offensive coordinator Dan Enos are expected to part ways after today’s Independence Bowl.

Miami fans doing backflips over it. Can’t remember how well thought of he was at Bama but I know Kirby wanted him over Chaney back in 2016. Specializes in QBs

Interesting. I know this was a short stint for him, but if we did go with Enos we’d be looking at back to back former U OC’s??

He was Kirby’s first choice and Bielema wouldn’t let him go. What did he do so wrong in Miami?

That the thing, he has been at Miami one year with what I take to be bad personnel under a first year HC who has seemed out of his element. Miami has had some really poor offensive showings but I honestly don’t know if that’s him or the players or everything combined. I do know he pissed off Bama by basically just up and walking out

Feel like a lot of us were all pulling hard for that initial move too.

We can have 2 Miami reject oc’s In a row!

His history with QBs at Arkansas and Miami is pretty strong

Miami did have a terrible OL this year. Impossible to have a good offense with that.

I'm always a little leery of other fans' opinions on a guy especially coming off a down year. Unless it's someone like Pittman that is going to be universally adored it seems like most fans are going to crap talk a guy that may be on the way out. I distinctly remember Kirby wanting Enos bad when he got here but there was a rule in his contract that he wasn't able to (enos I mean), then when beliema got fired Saban scooped him up immediately. I've gotta think someone that saban wants that badly can't be all tha tbad.
HOwever, looking at his bio it looks like Enos was only QB coach in 2018 while locksley was OC. His records at Miami and as a HC at CMU are a bit underwhelming, but it's hard to say how much you can really take from that.
Hell idc...if we can land him let's do it and not think twice. At the very least he'd be an upgrade in QB coaching.

There are so many variables at play. There are a lot of coaches who made a career off a team that had a few years with a confluence of great talent. Some coaches just get better too. Some do not.

Here are some comments from an arkansas poster:
quote:
Dan Enos is one of the better OC’s Arkansas has had. This screams that Diaz wants control of something. Enos isn’t much of a talent evaluator, but he is a hell of a play caller and one heck of a QB coach.
quote:
Enos helped turn Brandon Allen from a questionable SEC starting QB into someone who got drafted into the NFL and has been in the league for four years now. In 2015 when Enos was our OC, we were #1 in nation in offense efficiency. With the right parts he can make a hell of an offense.
quote:
Enos was at Arkansas a while. The transformation he did with Brandon Allen was remarkable. The offense under Chaney and Enos was night and day. The same could be said for QB development between the two.

CMU fans and Miami fans seem to not have enough bad to say about Enos. I mean Coley got similar reviews and here we are so not sure if this is the miracle hire we wanted or not. I would be whelmed at best.

Has Chase Brice ever gotten any good reviews?

I remember arkansas and UT fans both railing on chaney sayign how atrociou he was, and although he certainly wasn't world class by any means, he was aight which leads me to believe that a "good" coordinator can look bad with terrible talent (arkansas and ut) and pretty good with great talent (uga). Coley has shown that he's simply a bad OC, no way around it. If Enos was able to do really well at arkansas, which according to their fans he was, I dont' see why he couldn't here.
Honestly though at this point, anyone, literally anyone, coming on board the offensive staff will make me happy as it shows we're at least trying to do SOMETHING to change things up. Although if coley is still the playclaler I'll be salty. Fire either the ST coach or hankton, demote Coley to WR coach, and bring in Enos for QB/OC and I'd take that without question.
