Looks like we may have lost Van Pran. He removed UGA references on his twitter account. We need to keep Jones.

We will see. He hasn't decommitted from us and nobody seems to be changing predictions or worrying.
Also Washington did sign Wednesday. He admitted it on live tv during half time on ESPNU. So the mods on some of the UGA forums have been hinting good news for us on him. Bama and TideSaint were proven wrong about him not signing.

Van Pran is a luxury. We have Ericsson and Webb waiting in the wings at center. As long as we hold on to Jones we had a great class on the offensive line.

Is there any chance Evans has been committed all along but for some reason we wanted to keep it hidden? Like maybe Milton wanted to be the only RB taken? I seem to remember Milton recruiting Evans pretty hard so I wouldn’t think that’s the case. It’s just seems really odd that Evans almost committed to us months ago, backed off and disassociated himself from us, then reappears after most ESD signatures are in and says he wants to come back?

Wiltfong switched his CB from LSU to foggy earlier today, and told Rusty that he wasn't switching it to UGA until he got confirmation that an LOI was involved for Evans since it has changed so much. He just changed his CB to UGA.....
No offense, and i am not disputing what you are saying...just wanting clarification...
Is this something you read in an article, or something another poster said?

They always could until a player is committed, I think. Once the player commits they can't change the CB.

By composite we only have 2. Cook, nor Milton were 5*. If you want to take all services, then you are probably correct.

Once official, whatever facts are there can be shared on certain prospects.
Milton has been a great asset in recruiting. Another recruit has been really dedicated to building this class up as well. A constant recurring strategy has been to identify recruits that can recruit others.
Many things that are happening behind the scenes with this class have stayed unknown as so many are from out of state. That means limited info from high school coaching staffs and others in those communities.
Some info on a prospect that's already announced-
Jermaine Burton showed a lot interest earlier in the season. If it hadn't of gotten out via social media that he was in Athens (twice), it's very likely his announcement really would of caught everyone off guard.
Reality is he was visited in California in October, then again when the staff went out west to meet with Stroud, Milton, Washington, Ringo, Manning, Matt Luke (yep), and Lindberg. Might of caught LSU by surprise, but that's part of it when dealing with teenagers. Many times these kids have trouble saying no to staffs they've had long relationships with. It has nothing to do with the info being wrong or a staff really losing a commit.
These kids aren't trying to make anyone look bad or set off fanbases with rejection issues. That very much includes our own
It is hilarious that when a recruit chooses another school, over our own, that the sentiments of denial flood the facts of reason.
It's strikingly similar to the insecurity, fear, anger and disbelief that occurs when a woman leaves, but...
We got 99 problems, but recruiting ain't one

So what I’m hearing is, we anticipated Luke’s firing and stopped in to say “we got a spot for you if you want it?”
Which begs the question, what was the thought process? Did we know Pittman was angling for HC job and was likely gone with Arky tanking?

The trip I referred to was after Luke had been let go and Pittman left.
Week of 12/9
Luke was only target for OL coach. He flew out west and met with staff.
*Coley flew out during the bye week (October) and met with Burton

Lucid insight, Americus. Thank you.
Georgia has a lot to offer any recruit.
We have arguably the nicest/best college football town in Athens, GA.
We have a traditionally strong financially successful athletic department.
We have excellent facilities.
Kirby Smart has proven to be an excellent recruiter both at Alabama and UGA. He's been part of multiple NC at Bama and he knows how to win a NC. No doubt recruits in the know are well aware of this fact.
As such, we should never feel badly when a recruit chooses another school. Individuals make choices based on a complex set of parameters. Often time they are simply looking for immediate playing time and there's a better fit on another football team.

I'm pretty certain I know who that recruit is.
His school is about 10 minutes from my farm and he is an OL.

Evans has everything as far as tools. He has great vision, runs through tackles, and has excellent lateral quickness and acceleration. He could be amazing.
OT: Did anyone watch the North Shore team in the playoffs? Almost every game the best player on the field looked like the North Shore junior QB. Kid is going to be good.
