2020 Early Depth Chart Projection [Post NSD]

Now that we have a completed/final 2020 recruiting class, I thought I'd toss out an early projection of our depth chart just for kicks. I've included their star rankings and year status just for reference.
This is all just fun speculation, so please don't go crazy with the criticism. I've surely made some mistakes and poor guesses, so let's have some discussion on what those might be. The OL, for instance, is always a debate. None of us really has a clue who's playing where on the OL, but it's fun to discuss. And yes, I'm putting all the freshmen at/near the back of the depth chart until they prove they can beat out the vets. Enjoy!

Note on OL: I really have no idea what we do at LT. Truss or even Jones could start there, but my gut says Ben came back to play LT, and I think he is suited for it in Matt Luke's scheme.
Salyer played RT vs Baylor and was great. I really think he sticks there this season. He is not an LT. He'll surely play Guard in the NFL, but he proved in the Baylor game he can play RT in college very well.
Ericson played RG vs Baylor and did great, but Shaffer would have surely started there if he didn't have the neck injury. If Cleveland doesn't start at LT, he'll likely be the starter at RG or LG.
Trey really needs to move to LG or RG. Guard is his normal position, and he's had obvious issues snapping and then executing his assignment while at Center. We are loaded at Center for a reason, and I really believe they intend Trey to move back to Guard.
Clay does not want to play Center, he wants to play Guard, and I think he redshirted for this reason. Ericson was on the 2-deep at both guard and center, so it's likely either he or Trey or Webb. I'm going with Ericson because he's more than capable, plus we now have Van Pran and Kinnie behind him, with Webb as another handcuff if needed. But this will give Webb some playtime at Guard, which we could be thin at experience after this season.

Oh God I forgot we still had Landers...

For 2 more years actually

He'll rarely see the field in any game that isn't already decided.
That D looks amazing. My god, the talent and first class depth is amazing. If Cine can play disciplined ball it's Georgia's best D ever - not a single weakness.
ETA: And that WR room doesn't look half bad either. We'll see some stars emerge.

I think Webb and Wilson will cross-train at safety. I can't see Ojulari not starting...

Salyer is far better suited to play LT or RT than Ben is. Ben is RG all the way.

McClendon played RG vs Baylor and did great,
Pretty sure this was Ericsson.

Agree. He is probably our best overall player for 2020.

Feel like I watch a decent amount of football and have no idea what RBS is

*shrug* Not that big a deal.

I think Webb and Wilson will cross-train at safety.
I think Ringo has a chance of seeing the field at Star, but his obvious position is CB.
There's so much cross-playing everywhere on our defense I don't think we need to get too caught up with the labels.

The competition for so many of these spots throughout the spring and into fall camp is going to be incredible.

Pretty sure this was Ericsson.

Which is why we will probably see a little more attrition after the spring.

I suspect McBride, Blount, maybe Mathis, or maybe an OL that wants to go play for Pittman (like Webb?), or maybe a DB like Brini or Speed.
But we have to get down to 85 by the end of August, so somethings going to have to give.

All good guesses. For some reason I think McBride sticks. I might add Landers or Bush, too, though. bush being from Texas and us bringing so many WRs in, I think he might take the opportunity to go back home to play....and Landers might see the writing on the wall and leave. Mathis could leave or at least take a medical if he is not improving physically.

Does anyone actually chart their running backs like this?

Thank you.Had no idea what was going on and thought missed out the latest RB posistion grouping.

Monken doesn’t use fullbacks either, and we clearly have 3 different style of RB.
He uses 20 personnel a lot with a RB on both sides of the QB in shotgun, and often the bigger back will lead block for the other.
When we’re drawing plays up on the whiteboard for our kids, and in their playbook, this is also what we’re using to distinguish who’s who. It’s better than “RB1” and “RB2”. We don’t have to tell each kid each play if they are 1 or 2. They know because they know they are a S or F or C style back.
Why is this such a big deal to you?
