He and a couple others started their own UGA recruiting site, it doesn’t sound like it went so well. Hopefully he will come back here while he works on some other projects

Haven't been following lately, but why is this?

Bad timing on his injury if I had to guess... he was offered on the back of a great season, but rehab taking a while - still not fully cleared and not sure when he will be to my knowledge. This will limit ability to evaluate during the camp season for sure... who knows about his senior year...

This was from the write up on BD Illustrated:

quote:

About Griffin:
Griffin was the first 2019 commit for the Bulldogs. He committed to Georgia on June 11, 2016, the day he received an offer from the Bulldogs. According to 247Sports, the primary recruiter for Griffin was Jim Chaney. Since his initial commitment, Griffin’s suffered multiple injuries including the most recent one, an ACL injury in the 2017 season. He told Bulldawg Illustrated that he’s not cleared to play yet, and doesn’t know when he will be.

As we reported on March 31 in an interview with Griffin, communication between him and Georgia appeared to be obsolete. He said that Georgia wasn’t recruiting him hard anymore and they hadn’t for a while. Griffin wouldn’t answer the question about how solid his commitment to Georgia was, and this announcement explains why.

He plans on signing a letter of intent in February. The Gators and Alabama appear to be the two teams, Griffin likes. However, it appears up in the air as to who leads at this time.

Georgia has seven verbal commits for the 2019 class with the loss of Griffin. The Bulldogs move from No.1 to No.3 in the 247 Sports Composite Team Rankings. However, Georgia still leads in the average ranking per commitment at this time.

Are Florida and Bama still really that high on him? If they are, leads me to believe he's still worth having. But I understand we may be more proactive about addressing our needs, too, which is good.

enough for UF and Bama, why isn't he good enough for us?

Remains to be seen if he is. Uf isn't good at recruiting, so they can't be too picky, and I doubt this is a legit Bama offer.

I very seriously doubt Bama would actually take him right now with his injury history.

There has been zero mention of him on our sites.

Our OL class is pretty much set with Pierce Quick, Clay Webb, Amari Kight and now this OG Kamaar Bell from Colquitt County. If Darnell Wright wants in we'll take him too.

"the two teams he likes"... Does not necessarily mean he has committable offers to either.

I tried to go to Americus's new site to see if they have any nuggets on Pappoe...holy shite that site format is terrible. Plus when I checked this morning, trying to click through to "Forums" takes you to a Wordpress admin login page.

Re: Pappoe, Auburn seems to feel as if he is theirs to lose now. How legit is that sentiment?

I said earlier that it didn’t go as they planned and it looked like it was coming to an end.

As for Pappoe, don’t worry who he commits to on May 5th. This will play out until he signs the LOE. I believe he will end up in Athens and is just riding a high from his visit to the barn.

Yeah, I sent him an email today to see what was up.

Folks on the beat say there's no reason to expect anything but good news from Pappoe.

The site was doing fine, arguably well, until it crashed for a couple weeks killing any momentum it had built up.

That plus the dead season was a really bad combination IMO.

OPs maybe trending towards Auburn at the moment, but it isn’t over. The depth chart there is much more attractive than UGA’s for sure, I think he eventually will be a DAWG. He is an intriguing prospect, but he is no where close to being our biggest recruiting need. We need Safety prospects, true Offensive Tackles, and Defensive Lineman.
Op is a take, no doubt, but we need sone other dudes much more,

OP is visiting again before he commits, gotta trust Kirby and Schumann to lock him down on that visit.

A take? OP fits the mold of the latest UGA Butkas Award winner. He is a gotta have.

Wording him as "a take" might be underselling it a bit, but labeling him as a "gotta have" is overselling it a bit. Just my opinion.

He is a special talent, no doubt, and we want him badly. He can elevate the players around him much like Roquan did. However, the previous poster is right. We do have more pressing needs. He would be a major get and a very welcome addition, though.

Again. Just my opinion.

Kinda it but looks like Chigbu might be taking a medical which would free up some room for the incoming class...
