I told him not to worry about it. Told him to think about why we would blue shirt our 3rd string QB if he was leaving. Still makes me wonder though.

No insight here, but I think it would be pretty sketchy timing if Fields were in the process of transferring before the Sugar Bowl and news got out.
Not saying he won’t transfer, just that the timing would probably be enough to cause a bit of recruiting backlash with kids close to him who we are targeting.

The timing of this is definitely sketchy, even moreso because Fields could easily shut the rumor down and stop any potential negative impact on his team's recruiting. Doesn't seem like he's going to do that.

This could have a big impact on Haselwood, not sure it would have that much of an impact on anybody else though. It sounds like we’ve made a push for Calzada (A&M QB commit), don’t know much about him though tbh

Is this still all bullshite conjecture and rumor or has something substantive actually come out? Because last I heard this wasn’t even up for debate until end of Spring camp

Things rarely make good sense when egos are involved. Trevor Lawrence led his team to the playoffs while Fields routinely gets shredded on the UGA boards by people eager to convince someone that he's nowhere close to ready. Not every player or family will handle that sort of thing in a way that's beneficial for all concerned.

This is on the board of all of our opponents by now and the mods on the UGA boards have fanned the flames. Fans of other schools are talking about their chances of winning the Fields sweepstakes or how it will affect other recruits. It's not the sort of thing that gets swept under the rug, especially right now.

Fields was fairly noncommittal when asked about transferring and never explicitly said “I’m not transferring” iirc. I don’t know if these rumors are completely BS or not but you’re not exactly seeing people in the know outright say it’s not true, which is a little concerning.

This is all bullshite. Sites are out of content until Wednesday and all the sources out there are giving conflicting info so they’re floating this low hanging fruit to rile up the masses without any substance behind it. They’re counting on folks to reason “well if it wasn’t true then Kirby or Fields would say so” knowing full wel it’ll be tomorrow afternoon at the earliest before someone says anything (or at all). Fields certainly isn’t going to say anything as 1. He’s not sitting at home reading message boards and 2. He’s likely ignoring the million questions he’s been getting about transferring since midway through the year.

Agreed. While I am agnostic on Fields transfer (nothing credible yet), this whole “Fields denied he would transfer” statement narrative is sketchy as hell as well.

Well lost in all this hoopla is the fact that Kipp Adam's at 247 put in a CB for us to get Sanders. That's some good news.
