Great! Appreciate all the time and effort you have put in on the thread!

but, was he not playing much at Michigan
He played in 8 games as a freshman. Injured his knee this year and that defense was pretty talented even last year... to get injected into the lineup as a freshman is pretty indicative.

I think OSU proved their D was a B1G created myth this season.
The best coach in the B1G figured out a way to exploit them in one game... it hardly means their defense was a myth. If that's the case then there are a lot of "mythical defenses" that were pretty fricking good.
My only hesitation is that it sounds like he would be an initial counter, and I'm not sure if he's worth giving up someone else in this class... but 3 to play 3 and theoretically pretty close to game ready and practicing this Spring would be beneficial for sure.

Interesting... I was using different site and only accounted for 2 games, but perhaps because he only logged stats in 2 games. Dawgnation article also states 5: LINK

Or maybe he was just miserable being in a frozen wasteland far away from home
Drob, Solomon, Price, all recruits who spurned UGA to go across the country and end up coming back closer to home. You think these kids will learn to stay home?

Some are drawn to the idea of getting away from home and not being the watchful eyes of mom and dad....then the culture differences kick in and they get home sick. It can be tough on a kid.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.
The #1 TE from last year is home during bowl practice because he’s homesick. Deangelo Gibbs had a ton of offers and might transfer. Same with someone like Netori Johnson who looks like he might have a hard time starting.
My only issue is when someone steers these kids to commit somewhere specific like good ol Carlos did w/ D Rob.

People like to tell other people what to do. Look at this board and the number of posters that want to tell Kirby he isn't doing his job right.

Could definitely be a pitch the staff uses in the future

Like Darnell Wright, who may sign with Tennessee on Wednesday without having taken a single official visit. It must take some serious arm twisting to get a top ranked OT from WV to do that.

He hasn't taken any OV's? I knew he put ours off, but didn't realize he had not taken any...or did I misunderstand you?
And, isn't he signing in February? I get these guys mixed up sometimes.

As of right now, but UT is trying to get him to sign Wednesday

Zero officials. Supposedly signing in Feb but sounds like they're working hard to get him to sign early.

I was a little harsh by calling the Michigan defense a myth...they were a good unit. I just think their stats were boosted somewhat by the B1G not necessarily being the strongest proving ground this season. My point of bringing that up was that Solomon had not thus far been a difference-maker on that defense. That may partially be due to injury and youth. He MAY be a great player. We don’t know yet.
Like you, I would be concerned about his status as an initial counter.
I think the jury is still out on DRob coming home, so I suppose I am just more reticent than most here to just automatically assume its a great idea to re-recruit people who chose a different school initially when they decide they want to leave that school. I would rather spend the scholarship on a fresh recruit with one cycle of recruiting drama.
That being said, if the staff decides to go after him, great! They obviously see something we can use.
I wasn’t trying to say we shouldn’t take the kid, and wasn’t saying he definitely isn’t a solid player. I just posed that I wouldn’t necessarily divert many resources toward bringing him home.

My dad just sent me a text saying the "Pro's" on his board(Rivals) are saying that Fields is in the process of transfering. I told him I had read the same nonsense and that Rusty or someone had put it out there as click bait, but he assures me that this is the real deal. Anybody have anything on this?

Pretty sure it's zero Official Visits... 247 hasn't updated that the UGA trip didn't happen, but take a look here: LINK /
Gotta admit that is shocking...but he has made unofficial visits...and am I wrong about him signing in February? I know he went to Tennessee and Pruitt was going to try to talk him into signing Wednesday, but I have not heard anything since.
Regardless, I have not seen anything about him in a while, so that is not a good sign. I really wanted to reel him in.

Mostly to Tennessee because his coach drives him there... Quite literally steered the car there.

Well... that was *his* timeline, but you have to imagine UT will be pushing for early signature. He doesn't have to announce that he *will* sign in advance... they just have to convince him... and Pruitt can be pretty convincing. (We have an IPF don't we?
I'll trust Pittman to do Pittman things ultimately... Think I'd prefer Neal > Wright, but neither are anything to sneeze at to be certain.
