What's weird is Auburn has beaten us no more than they've beaten you the past few years and with the exception of last year, it's always when we've had mediocre teams while they've had great ones. We consider them a joke for the most part.

It is odd auburn has as many wins over bama as they have over uga and LSU since 2008. Owned big time by all their rivals.

I just read Bama went in house with DJ Williams. If they offer this week its expected that it's because they lost Sanders....once again take it with a grain of salt.

Whoever said this yesterday was mistaken.

Saban went in-home with DJ JAMES, not Williams. James is a DB from the state of Alabama.

DJ James

We did not lose the game last year in Auburn because of the refs. That’s a pretty absurd claim. They just came out on fire, and beat us up and down the field. We couldn’t get out of our own way and shot ourselves in the foot any time it looked like we’d get any sort of momentum after the first quarter.

But thankfully people are starting to see the Gus Bus struggling and they’re not recruiting as well as they once were.

No offense, but Auburn is our biggest challenge and will continue to be in the very near future.

You're catching hell but I can agree with you on this. AU is a division opponent that you play yearly so there is more on the line every year vs them.

They just seem to want it more when it comes to playing us on the field.

This is bullshite though

said "Bama went first and made UGA wait as long as possible. If Alabama offers Williams then Trey (Sanders) is Florida or Georgia bound. According to his cousin Williams will commit on the spot if offered by Alabama."

That's exactly what I read about DJ Williams

Which Georgia "insider" was this from?

ETA: Saban has not visited DJ Williams at all.

I mean good luck with that. What's his record now, like 20-0 against former assistants?

Why would Alabama view Georgia any differently than LSU at this point? Lots of talent, plays us close sometimes, isn't mentally tough enough in the end to win the game. That's how these meetings have played out. I think we all recognize the job that Kirby has done and the talent he's bringing in, but you'll have to forgive us if we aren't paralyzed with fear. As Alabama fans, we feel like we're in good hands with coach Saban and the results back that up. While you're playing well against us, we are winning the games. You play to win the game. He's 0-2 now against Nick and you're ready to make him Saban's daddy...based on what? Close losses? I'm sorry if I just can't wrap my head around that mindset.

Because our games have been much closer than what you've done to LSU.

Sometimes? We're talking since Kirby was hired. You can knock off the sometimes part.

I'm not saying you should fear UGA or Kirby or that we'll knock Saban off his thrown but don't come into our recruiting thread and act like things haven't changed for UGA with the hiring of Kirby Smart.

Alright, I generally like the Bama posters around here, but if they're just gonna start a 5-page trash-talking session in the middle of the recruiting thread, get them the frick out.

Not that the Georgia fans here aren't partially to blame, but this has become shite. I can go to any SEC Rant thread and read the exact same things I'm reading in this thread.

The pendulum has reached its apex for Bama... it’s obvious to those who are paying attention.

They are over here telling us they aren’t scared...

But they aren’t likely to be on anyone else’s recruiting thread making the same claim outside of Auburn.

They may not be “scared” per se...but they definitely aren’t as comfortable with things as they are projecting.

For our part, our fans really do need to stop running their man pleasers until we ACTUALLY win a game head to head with Alabama. It’s a weak position to put yourself in. Makes one look like a little yippy dog barking at a lion.

I'm not saying it's trash talking and I enjoy them posting on our board since they all bring good intel, but don't downplay what UGA has done and looks to be becoming.

I can appreciate that this is our board and people can get a little rah rah... but wtf...

quote:

Saban will retire as Kirby's b1tch, mark it.

Saban will retire as the greatest coach in the history of college football... and no one's bitch. He *will* likely stay a little too long, simply because it's in the nature of great coaches to not have great vision of when they are taking a step back, but it doesn't look like he's taking a step back at all... he's still distanced himself from everyone else... Kirby is just catching up (note... *catching*, not *caught*.) Kirby's got his own hurdles to work on getting over before he can start worrying about making Saban his bitch. Don't lose by double digits on the road to SEC West teams for example. Don't lose double digit leads to Alabama. I believe in him and I imagine everyone of us does for the most part... But let's pump the brakes just a bit.

With that said... why in the ever living frick are we having this discussion in the recruiting thread... before someone gets their feels hurt because RUFTR has now responded to the asinine comment, just let it go...

For all the "insecure" and "rent free" sort of comments I see lobbed from UGA fans and others at Bama posters on the Rant, this is just about the definition of rent free. TideSaint typically a good poster. Of late, he's had a lot of conflicting information that flies in the face of what a lot of us have seen/heard (or in some cases believe to *know* otherwise)... It is what it is. Recruiting is not an exact science, and guys who are typically accurate with what they share can get things wildly wrong as well.

For both UGA and Bama, Auburn is a more immediate concern 7 out of 8 years, as we both play them during the regular season. That comment is pretty innocuous. Fortunately, unless Gus lands Khalil Tate for 2019, they probably fire him and go into transition mode in 2020 for a couple of years. Until something changes on their schedule though, the Home/Home, Away/Away UGA/Bama games certainly make their lives difficult every other year.

Lastly, Riseup... I recognize that the post you responded to was a little dumb, but do remember you're on the UGA board... it's a privilege and not a right. If I went disagreeing with every dumbass post I've seen on the Alabama board about UGA and Kirby Smart, I'd be catching hell from Bama posters and/or lose my access. Also, it would just about be a fulltime job some days.

Let's drop this general line of discussion and get back to the Crootin' please.
