Why would Tim Watts info be any more credible than any other teams sources?

Tim Watts is the best in the business, regardless of team affiliation.

I don't think you'll find anyone who disagrees with that statement either.

I hope we get Dean, but I don't put any faith in Simmons, Womack, Farrell or any of the Rivals guys. Their recruit rankings and predictions have been sketchy for a while.

Tide my brother, you do realize Bud Elliott is only 66% accurate on his picks? That sounds like his sources are shite to me. Like I said nothing is definite but UGA fans should have the enthusiasm here in my opinion.

That's not true FWIW.

UGA does not recruit either state successfully. So in terms of available talent, yes it is a weak class. The best option for UGA is committed to Clemson. UGA will probably need two ILB’s in 2020, and the options are limited.

My point was these analysts are wrong all the time, not that Elliott was better than the other two. Hell, Elliott probably doesn't even remember CBing Dean to Alabama back then.

I will say Elliott has been on the scene in Mississippi for a very, very long time. That doesn't make him right in this case though.

We'll know in a little over a week.

David Johnson over at 247 (State of Mississippi Insider) wrote an article this morning saying that it's going to be hard to take Dean from UGA and Kirby at this point.

I dont know anything about the man or his picks, but I'd say he is well connected in Mississippi too.

As far as reliable sources, this board’s most reliable source has been AmericusDawg. Hasn’t he been saying Dean to UGA for a long time?

Little video of Dean's State Championship celebration with a Kirby Smart and Dan Lanning cameo Twitter

Americus has been solid about Dean to UGA for months now.

To me it looks like there’s just a lot of confidence by both teams at this point. It’s hard to ignore Bama’s confidence, just like it’s hard to ignore ours.

Might mean it’s still a little bit of a toss up.

Was thinking the same thing. I'm not sure if they think it will sway Dean if they can convince each other?

It doesn't matter what anybody thinks. When dean makes his announcement we will all know. Both teams are in it for him.

Trent Smallwood over at Rivals (UGA Insider) just said that according to two of his sources that Bama isn't even in the top 3 now. He said its UGA, Ole Miss, and now LSU. With UGA leading. He said he is hearing there is a trust issue possibly with Bama and the mother.

Also said that Kirby was at the championship game with Dean and also went to the Christmas Parade with him and his mom....

Oh and before yall jump on Trent because of Rivals sources and stuff. He has been spot on 100 % accurate last year and this year when calling picks for UGA. He has really good sources as of late.

This wouldn't be the first time he's misjudged UGA's position with a recruit over the past couple years.

I wouldn't trust Tide Saint's prediction re Dean. Even though he denies saying it, Tide Saint did say that Webb belonged to Alabama.

Did you see how Roquan and Leonard Floyd helped shut down the Rams? UGA linebackers are tops. Go Dawgs.

Caveat before I share this... this is a post from a guy on another board that is a dawg fan, but not overly optimistic or negative... fairly neutral and honest. I'm sharing his post because he basically typed up what was already swirling around in my head independently of his post based on all the things I've read/heard on Dean thus far. It's a *logical* conclusion IMHO... though that doesn't necessarily make it accurate (and even if it's accurate on 12/10 it doesn't mean it will be the driver on 12/19... recruiting moves fast... y'all know that)... so take it for what it's worth.

Ok bear with me here lol. Heard some more info and details regarding Dean. Conflicting info or what would be perceived as misinformation is surrounding this guy pretty thick and I want to be clear that this is my take on it based on info from articles, staffers and multiple reliably connected dudes. Obviously I’m biased. I try not to be with this stuff but it is what it is.

Dean’s mom loves UGA, loves Kirby, loves Schumann. Dean himself is reportedly very comfortable with UGA. Mama Dean blessed off on it a while ago now. UGA seems to be Dean’s leader. Multiple guys saying Bama is a distant THIRD for Nakobe. And the conflicting info seems to be coming from family members that want him to go somewhere closer to home... as in they are telling him they will have to drive through Alabama to get to Athens so why not just go to Bama. I saw that actually quoted.

Ole Miss has the family connection and is a real potential landing spot no matter what our opinions of their team might be. I think Ole Miss would be the compromise with his family’s wishes, but mama is the one who really counts and she’s all good with UGA. So we’ll see but I think he takes mom’s blessing and makes his choice for himself. I think the Bama noise is coming from staffers and insiders reaching out for sources in the community - or his family directly - and picking up that distance is a factor and they think he will or should just go to Bama. The info isn’t necessarily wrong, it’s just not coming from Dean. It’s coming from folks close to him that want him closer to home.

Anyway, I suppose that could be totally wrong. There could be some other details of course that we’re not aware of. The family angle makes perfect sense to me though for why there is such conflicting info and this seems to me like a realistic bigger picture on Dean.

Guess we’ll see. Go Dawgs!

Not sure I buy the DISTANT part of "distant THIRD"... but otherwise, I can see how all of the pieces fit together to put something like this together... still could be wildly inaccurate, but that's what you get with both limited and overall conflicting information.

Happy Crootin' Season baws!

I have a hard time believing Alabama is a distant third, but admittedly it is based primarily on their success over the years.
It's just hard for me to wrap my head around Alabama being a distant third for a player they really want and at a position of need.
That said, a program that can put a kid into the NFL may not be as huge a pull that a lot of people think. I mean, he is apparently a very smart kid that could have gone to Stanford if he wanted. If I am not mistaken, both parents are high achievers along the doctor/lawyer type situation, so he has been raised to think along the lines of a life after football.
Also, if he is good enough, he probably feels like he can make it to the NFL from whichever school he chooses.

When you look at the total picture with Dean, you can make a case for Alabama, UGA and Ole Miss....or LSU for that matter.

What I don't get about him is why if he is so interested in this engineering education he doesn't choose a real engineering school with a decent football team. He could get his education and be so much better then the other players on the field. Be a real centerpiece.
