I think it's very possible that three of those five are silents.

They really expect people to believe they turned down 2 of the top qbs in the nation for the #23 qb?

Well, sure. It's possible. It's possible that all five are. But I highly doubt we have any silents, and if we do, no more than 1 or 2.

However, I am more than willing to get on the Hope Train!

Well, ANYTHING is possible!

Let me rephrase: very PROBABLE or very good chance that 3 are silents. I think we have several silents right now. All may not be 5*, but several none the least.

You can't hang your hat on silents anyway so it doesn't really matter.

Well, I hope you are right! I really wasn't trying to make fun of what you said, though.

Yup, Master Teague supposedly was silent with a commitment video made weeks before his announcement. Took one trip to OSU.................

I don't think Tyreke would be a silent, and why would Cook not just come out with it.

They may have their reasons. White was a silent for a month before he went public.

Fields said UGA is out if we take Corral's commitment. So do we go all in and wait if he doesn't commit before Corral's visit or play it safe and take Corral?

I agree 100%. But the same can be said for verbals until the first Wed. in February.

My guess is they try to get at least a silent out of Fields before Corral comes for his visit. If they cannot get that, they take Corral, if he wants to commit. If they get the verbal from Fields, they try to slow play Corral even further, and hope he is still there if Fields goes someplace else.
There is a decent chance we get Fields. There is also a decent chance we whiff on Fields and Corral.

That would be the smart thing to do. As I said, if they get a silent from Fields they will slow play Corral. if not, they go with Corral.

That seems like a red flag to me. If a player wants the spot, go ahead and take it. Don't try to influence things as an outsider, and possible future opponent. We need a good qb in this class. If a good qb tries to commit, don't turn them down IMO.

We've already slow played Corral by getting him to come back for another visit at the end of the month, not sure how much longer we can put him off. Fields understands the situation, if he wants to come here he'll commit on the visit or soon after and if he doesn't then go with Corral.

At least the boo birds can't say we were slow on the draw with Fields like we were Deshaun Watson. If he doesn't want to be a Dawg, there's little we can do at this point. Personally, I'd love to see what we could do with a mobile QB.

I hope Kirby didn't slow play Corral. Just take the commitment and if Fields wants to commit take him too. Auburn already has Gatewood committed for 2018 and Fields is supposedly looking at them. Not sure why he'd refuse to consider UGA if we had a 2018 qb committed.

Well Corral gives Fields a little bit less job security than Gatewood would. When Fields would get here we'd have Eason, Fromm, Corral, and him.

That's just not a realistic scenario at all.

I think if Kirby and company had pushed Corral to straight flip to us from USC he would've. But he's a west coast guy who has only spent like 2 days in Athens with not much of his family so we can reasonably ask him to come back for a later visit to make sure he's 100%. In the meantime we've gone balls to the wall for Fields (our #1 choice for obvious reasons) and push him hard to commit on this next visit, but if not we still end up with a top QB.

The most unrealistic scenario is passing up a needed recruit because another prospective recruit objects. Eason and Fromm are already here. If Corral makes Fields nervous, he can probably avoid that issue by taking the spot now. I've seen too many strange things happen down the stretch to let some kid talking to Auburn dictate who UGA accepts.
