Doesn't really mean anything with regards to those two. The number in question today is the 25 hard cap on signees for this class. The 85 scholarship total won't be a problem this cycle.

Yeah... neither of those situations has anything to do with the other... getting under 85 is something that we should have no problem doing regardless of their status, as there *will be* attrition over the spring/summer of guys that simply aren't going to see the field. Neither of their status has anything to do with the recruiting limit of 25... will be interested to see how we worked out the math here.

Gotta mean writing on the wall for Natrez or Gibbs I’d imagine

Doubtful, Eason transferred and that should have opened up a spot. I hope Gibbs is back!

Guys... that's not how this stuff works. Yes, we need room under the 85... Eason transferring had essentially nothing to do with how many recruits we could take though. We'll figure out the math behind it over the course of the day I'm sure... but there are 2 numbers to deal with:

25 signees per year
85 total players under scholarship at any given time

the 85 is a much later concern, since you have spring/fall attrition or as has been commonly referred to as "processing" - guys will transfer because they're not going to see the field (see the leftover Richt OL guys that have never seen the field for example).

So how many early enrollees does this class /contain that could apply towards the previous year? I can’t look it up because I’m out and about today.

Perspective, twitter fact:

“The difference in points between No.1 Georgia and No.3 Texas in the @Rivals recruiting rankings is the same as the difference between No.3 Texas and No.16 UCLA.”

I'm still trying to investigate to figure out how we did/are doing it... right now speculating that it's one of the following:

1) Walthour may be "signing" but may also be going down the Wyatt path - there was some info about the signees not having to be reported to the NCAA until summer or something. Not much in the way of details, but possible

or

2) They were working on trying to figure out a way to get Wyatt classified as a 2017 grayshirt. Not sure how that helps since we blueshirted Marvin (and took Crumpton late in the spot that I believe was Demere's), but maybe they crunched numbers and figured something out.

No concrete info at all yet, will be looking into it and hoping someone who knows more about me just writes an article to answer the question.

How much better is this class vs the average class we took in under Richt?

I don’t want to bash, just perspective. This is unbelievable.
