Quay Walker (LB)
Otis Reese (LB)
Tyson Campbell (CB)
Bush (WR)
Those are the main guys, and many feel we get 3 of those. Shaky right now?
No telling about Walker and Bama putting the full court press on Campbell. Actually all 4 of those are very fluid.
Also, TE Ryan Goede from 2019 is set to announce and he is a major target for 2019.

I haven't followed him much at all, but is there a specific reason as to why we weren't in at all with Surtain Jr? Character issues?

Surtain was thought to be a heavy LSU lean forever. Alabama got in the mix, so it muddled the waters a bit, but the thought currently is he will be at LSU.
Alabama is looking to whiff on several targets this year.
Quay could go to us (or Tennessee)
Surtain to LSU
ITS to USCw
But I am hearing a little noise that they could flip JJ Peterson from the Vols.
I have not heard any news about character issues with Surtain, but haven't really followed him that closely.
ETA
I should say that miami was trying to climb back in it with Surtain, too, so that could be one to watch. He has family in Louisiana, but his immediate family, I think is in Miami. I think this is correct.
