And he started his recruiting pitch

and told a tale of Tiger bliss

Then a band of Tiger coaches joined in,

And it sounded something like this

When Coach Dabo finished, Kirby said,

"Well you’re pretty good old son

Dabo’s in the house of the rising sun

Bagmen get the bread pan a doling out dough,

Then Dabo bowed his head because he knew that he’d been beat

And he laid that golden five star on the ground at Kirby’s feet

Kirby said, "Dabo, just come on back
If you ever want to try again,

I done told you once, you son of a tiger,

I’m the best there’s ever been"
