Had him for a while. Most importantly, had his Mom. He plays against some good competition down there.

Overall instate talent is down compared to 2017 and 2019. Hell, some even contend it's down across the southeast comparatively. We are being more selective and going out of state for key pieces. Calculated risk that appears to be paying off.
Fwiw, Bama is doing the same thing and I expect them to have a stellar close as well

Yep. Most knew that the instate GA crop was not as good this year as what we just had nor what's coming up in 19... the work the staff has done already has been incredible. They identified the guys they wanted and have made it happen so far... interested to see the finish.
Agreed on Bama... don't think they'll have trouble filling out their class, though it is nice to see them sweat a little... tOSU has an unreal class this year...

As much as I think Urban's recent on field product has been overrated, his recruiting work over the past two cycles is historically unprecedented. Kind of baffling that they haven't been able to put it together at the highest level, especially last year.

The talent that OSU has recruited since he came there vs what they have accomplished is lacking....

Oh yea, he's related to Mark Ritch didn't you know?

Before this year
5 Seasons
61-6
Undefeated First Year(ineligible for bowl)
National Championship
2 Playoff Appearances
If that is lacking then everyone in the nation is the same except for Bama.

How did they get blown out at home this year by a mediocre team?? If that isn't Mark Richt's trademark I have no clue what is.

Nick Saban lost at home to Ole Miss in 2015. Lost at Ole Miss in 2014. Got blown out by Oklahoma in New Orleans in 2013

Has Nick Saban had a game that compares to the score of Clemson vs OSU from last year?? How can you put a team with that much talent on a field and not even score a point??
OSU plays a weak arse schedule pretty much every year up until this year, and loses a game they shouldn't have on a regular schedule.
I'm not confident they will be able to stop Penn State either....so make that a 2 loss season against the only 2 good teams they play this year if that happens.

How are we looking with DBs? I’d like to get a couple really nice CBs/Safeties this cycle.
Posted on 10/26/17 at 5:57 pm to jcolding41
Only taking three or four DBs. I think Kirby and Mel really like Wildgoose. Chris Smith is a stud and underrated. Last spot will be for an elite corner. If two want to come we take them. Most likely name to watch is Tyson Campbell. Others in play are Gilbert Frierson (Miami commit), Nadab Joseph, Isaac Taylor-Stuart

This. Unfortunately space is tight. Upside, we took 6 DBs last cycle... Gibbs, LeCounte, Speed, Stokes, Bishop, and Poole, and that's not counting Webb's move to corner either. We've got a good number of bodies back there. Need some to get ready to go.
The guys he listed we'd find ways to make room for 1-2. Tyreke Johnson on the other hand maybe outside looking in if he's set on wanting to be a corner.

Don't forget Brini.

You forgot Brini
Eta- like his potential btw
Johnson isn't gonna be a Dawg.
A few commits won't be on the final list.
