Yeah, just checked class calculator, even with Fields added, we're still just shy of the 10 spot.
Is it just based on sheer numbers at this point? I find it hard to believe we've got the guys we do and only checking in at 11. I can only figure it's based on the total number committed at this point.

We have the least amount of commits for sure in the top 10, but we're gonna jump some folks before next season. dont worry

Yes, its numbers and 6 of our recruits currently are 3*

DB may be Campbell?
Complete guess...no insight. Just following the apparent trail.

People who follow... who are likely package deals with Fields that we should keep our eye on now?
Luke Ford has been rumored as a highly likely to follow.
Micah Parsons more of a rumored connection because they were committed to PSU together, but haven't seen much smoke there.
He's mentioned previously that there was at least one DB that was interested in playing with him but I don't know that anyone identified who it was.
Kearis Jackson *was* one that was linked but obviously committed before Fields.
Will look to see if I can find the article from a while ago that listed out a few position numbers.
Can't find the original article, but found a guy who somewhat quoted it on another board... here was what Justin had referenced earlier this summer:
quote:
He said he was talking about WR's, DB's, a RB and TE's
WR is easy - Kearis Jackson
DB - ??
RB - Possibly Cook, maybe was Zamir at the time if these comments were prior to that commitment - can't recall
TE - Luke Ford
He mentioned up to 8 guys... likely a Salyer in that equation and just not called out by position as it likely would have been too on the nose.
Ultimately, that's just guys that specifically told him they'd like to play together... let alone the guys who were already looking at UGA and now see what the future might hold... as Americus mentioned earlier this week... gonna need shades

It's a combination. If you had 25 3* guys, it's not as valuable as say 15 4/5* guys... If you use the class calculator and add a random 5* to our class, you'll see the difference between adding a mid 4* and a 3* for example.
All but ND (tied) of the teams ahead of us have more total commits at this point. Add in that one of our commits is a top rated kicker (#1/2 by a couple of services), but his actual star value is 2 (edit - apparently LOW 3 now)... He's rated as the #1 Punter and the #4 Place Kicker...
Clemson, UGA and Ohio State appear to be the only teams with 2+ 5* commits at present. Clemson not even in the top 10 because they only have 11 commits. It will all sort itself out as the classes start to fill up and become more defined.

Most seem to think he's been a more distant shot for a while up until the last week. I still feel like Miami has an inside track there, but we're going to make it interesting to say the least it would seem.

Probably Johnson

Blergh... I feel like he's carrying some drama with him, continuing to insist that he's a CB while everyone seems to project him at Safety... figure he's most likely to go somewhere where he's sold on being a CB and I'm not sure Kirby's willing to pitch that to him.

If you sort by average, not raw point totals, we are sitting at about #8 right now on 247 composite.
Alabama is at #22 right now, but if you go by average they are about 5 or 6, at a glance.

If we can someone pull Salyer, Hill and Anderson, that'd rival the 17 class.
Posted on 10/6/17 at 2:20 pm to BranchDawg
We probably aren't getting Hill.

Hill going back to Auburn this weekend for the game. Hill would be great, but unfortunately he is going elsewhere

Yep, rumors he doesn't like our depth chart at all, I don't really expect him to be in the class right now. I'm more than happy with Salyer and Ericsson though. Plus, spots are going to be really tight going forward, if taking one less OL means we can have room for a Ford or an extra interior DL then I won't be too upset.
