Going to go ahead and break our rule of no positive feelings/comments with this post so go ahead and blame me if things go awry after this. I think most here remember how hard I've been on Stricklin the last few years but I really have to commend him for how he's changed his coaching style this year, he's really done a complete 180. Had a conversation recently with a good friend on the team about what's been different this season and it's definitely encouraging to see how much Strick has changed his coaching style this year. No longer is he breathing down the players' necks, screaming at guys for minor things, or having 4 hour practices after a loss. He's really taken a hands off approach this year and the mood on the team is much more relaxed than it has been, and that appears to have made all the difference because this team isn't really any more talented than they have been the last few years. It sounds like it took having his neck on the chopping block for him to make this change, but better late than never.

Now let's see how many we can take from UF this weekend

It still seems crazy to me we could get seeded as one of the 8 best teams in the country. I know we've played very well against a tough schedule but it almost doesn't seem believable.

At any rate I'm not complaining. The 08 regional/supers at Foley is one of my fondest memories as a student.

Me too. Lived about 1/4 mile from the field and watched from the green house. Best summer of college.

Probably saw you at some point. That whole postseason me and my neighbor in River Mill drove up there and parked on a side street, then just walked back there to hang out. Didn't know a soul besides each other but it was just one big party so it didn't really matter if you knew anyone. I'm on the front row of the fence in a lot of pictures from that series taken of the green house.

My understanding is that bringing in Pete hughes as a volunteer coach was a big move on Stricklin part. Having him around to bounce ideas off of has led to a lot of the changes in approach in style and attitude. Sean Kenny has also been a huge improvement for the pitchers. If you saw Kristofak just pitch the shite out of techs lineup last night, you can thank Kenny’s development for a lot of that.

And the 08 Super Regional is far and away one of my most cherished memories. I too am in some of those pics. Hope that if we host in any way that the greenhouse does it right with a full speaker system and their best heckling job of the right fielder they can muster.

D1 baseball has us as the #4 overall seed. Thats quite the jump.

Got to win one this weekend at least, especially since we only have a 2 game lead for not getting a bye in the SEC Tourney.

Also, this might piss some off, but this weekend, we need to be cheering for Vandy at Tennessee, Missouri at South Carolina, and probably most importantly Tech needs to win at least a couple at Virginia to stay in the RPI top 50.

Really need to show we can beat Florida in at least one game. If we can take 1 of 3 from Florida, I'll feel good about possibly pulling 2 of 3 in the Arkansas series the following weekend

If we want a national seed, we need to go 4-3 in our final 7 games. Split the UF and Arky series and beat Presbyterian. We’ll host either way, but it’s be awesome to nab a national seed.

I was apt 353 at river mill, closest building to the railroad tracks...walked out the door and was practically in front of the little break in the fence.
