Dawgs had 8-1 lead and now 9-6 i the 7th in first game today. Need some pitching to come through. Bats put up 7 in the 3rd for us. Go Dawgs!!!!

PItching our game 3 starter in Ryan Webb webb to and close this out. Not sure we are going to have any gas in the tank by game 3

Dawgs put 2 UK runners onin the 9th but mercifully turn a double play to win it 9=7.
CJ Smith is going to start Game 3. I don't see how we have the arms to contend in the rubber match but baseball is a funny game. Uk doesn't have a great bullpen to begin with and they used up quite a few arms in Game 2. Still, their bats are among the best in the country and they're not going anywhere.
Looking ahead, I'm afraid our pitching has finally hit a wall on the year as Hancock and Webb are only freshmen and aren't used to throwing this many pitches in a season yet. Only play seems to be putting Locey and Smith on the mound as weekend starters and moving Hancock and Webb into relief and midweek roles but we certainly aren't going to be able to keep winning going the way our arms are going. Fortunately our bats remain solid enough to win us some games.

Felt like we were doing whatever we could to avoid the sweep, and it probably was the right call.

I didn't understand why they didn't let Webb just start this second game. Only about a 25-30 minute wait. Could have had him throw a simulated inning and would be fine. Only threw 14 pitches. Understood why the had to bring him in but I think not starting him taxes an already gassed staff. Maybe CJ can go 5.

10 hits and no runs will lose you most game a and it did tonight. Never thought these two teams would be involved in a 1-0 game but here we are

that performance by Smith was huge tho. Hopefully he will get an opportunity to spell some of the guys who will inevitably hit a wall soon.

Lost two straight SEC series vs Vandy and Kentucky and we have Ole Miss, Florida, and Arkansas coming.

Our RPI might get us a #2 somewhere, but I honestly think we are closer to a #3. I could see us being shipped out of the south to somewhere like Indiana or Wichita.
