The Oregon cheerleaders are really hot but don't tell McBride.

People have been kind of freaking out

Hope this wasn't directed at me. I'm far from freaking out, but definitely there is a clear shift in momentum from where we were at the beginning of the summer. As someone else mentioned, I do believe there will be some "wait and see" as well as some of the guys looking at USCe might change their mind if the year goes as bad as many expect for the cocks.

With regards to the secondary class you mentioned, what if it's only LeCounte, Poole, Gibbs and some reach of a guy (ie. Brini decommits and Williams goes to USCe)? I'm not saying that's the worst DB class haul possible, but that's a pretty big dip from what was expected to commit in June. What if Gibbs goes elsewhere as well? We've got a long way to go as I mentioned, but just thinking about where we are, only 2 guys are rock solid at this point and I feel like it is a very important position for Kirby to lock down "his guys". It's definitely something to be aware of, though probably not alarmed/concerned at this point.

It would still be a damn good DB class. If you looked at it in a vacuum and didn't know who had (supposedly) been a lean, most would be happy with that.

This is a prime example of why no one should base their recruiting expectations on any projections in June...

So you're telling me that if you only got Poole and LeCounte, that would be a good DB class? It would be one definitely special player and another guy that has played well against ok competition but hasn't shined during the camps for whatever it's worth. I think it's 2 guys that will ultimately have strong showings at UGA when they get here, so don't take this the wrong way, but I can assure you that at the end of the season if that was all we had, or we added 2 guys ranked around 300-500 or so that would not be considered a "good DB class".

This is a prime example of not understanding context. You can have an opinion without thinking that the sky is falling. At this point, we're a long way from signing day, so it's all hypothetical, but there is no denying that we had a shift in momentum from having probably the best single DB class group of commits and leans, to a class of 3 with at least one more probable but one also wavering (Brini). This doesn't mean the class is falling apart or that the staff is doing something wrong, simply that the chips fell another direction for now. Ultimately, play this season and how Kirby and Co handle themselves will go a long way to securing the rest of the class that they want.

Nice article talking to Nate McBride's dad....

Don't think it's VIP, but just in case....

quote:

The No. 2 inside linebacker prospect in the country, Nate McBride (Vidalia, Ga./Vidalia), has remained out of the spotlight as he prepares to return for his senior season, after wrist injuries derailed his junior season. In his recruitment, one team has emerged as the favorite to land his commitment, and his father, Jason McBride, broke it down on vsporto's SEC Recruiting Buzz. "Georgia is No. 1 right now for him," Jason said. "Coach Smart made a good impression on him when he was at Alabama and nd just made it even better when he moved over to Georgia. It is a lot closer, and Georgia was one of his picks then too. Georgia is the leader of all the schools." McBride's father said that the comfort level with the program and its players have made Nate feel at home.

Did any of y'all watch McBride play last week? I know he didn't play last year because of a car wreck. I was just wondering if he is back to form. He was a beast before he got hurt.

Sorry. I've not seen him play, either.

Vidalia-Dodge should be a great AA football game.

From reading Vidalia fans on GAVSV, it sounds like the coaches held McBride back in the scrimmage. I imagine there is also a little rust involved as well.

Fromm reminds me a lot of Murray. Has total on-field command of the offense and just makes plays with his arm and feet.

I said this months ago. The kid is a taller Murray replica without the guido style. If he plays like Murray in college Lawerence might have trouble getting on the field. Could sway his decision.

Just ended a few minutes ago; Lee County (Aubrey Solomon) fixing to play Jones County now.

Fromm went 26 for 36 with 450 yds and 4 TDs
