Agreed, but isn't there a very pro Mich coach down that way?

I think this will be the last kid taken out of the State of Ga by Mich.

he's making a decision on where to live and play football the next 4 years, it should be all abotu himself.

I'm disappointed we didn't get him but I mean, I would hope he was thinking of himself.

wtf happened with Warner? I could understand leaving for Stanford but FSU? It's worse academically, play in a crappier league and won't be as good as we will in the future

Yes, but he willfully screwed with the coaches and trolled fans over and over. Plenty of recruits go through the process the right way and respect the time /effort of the coaches.

As a parent, seeing Kirby do this to kids and technically it has happened twice although the other instance is much more understandable. I am not sure how much I would trust Kirby to promise my kid a spot. He doesn't need to do that very often.

My thoughts exactly. Really don't like seeing this. Sucks for the kids and will eventually suck for the team when it is used against us by every other coach in the league.

Unfortunately, recruiting is sales. It's not church and there really isn't room to put every card on the table. We've been pretty fortunate this year, that so much of this class has been pretty locked down for a long time.

For Carter, I don't see how he could have played it any differently. You could have polled 100 people and every one of them would have assumed that at a minimum one of either Chubb or Michel would go to the NFL this season...

When coaches get criticized for not signing enough guys, they live on a razors edge. If they miss on a guy like Solomon who was difficult to predict, they get criticized if they shoot out an offer to a filler guy... no win scenario. No kid worth getting is going to really hang around for a "you have a spot if X doesn't commit" offer.

The other thing to keep in mind is kids have a way of hearing what they want to hear. While I fully believe it's possible that Kirby said exactly what was quoted in the article, it's also possible that he couched it a bit more than "you have a spot no matter what". I'll be interested to see if Kirby has any comment regarding the situation if it's asked of him.

Don't blame him for his decision but the way he handled things was a bit fricked up.

Hope AS didn't troll us and frick up our Dt spot. I think Slaton could of been a stud. Hopefully we still have Murch wanting to play in Athens.

Oh well, like I said it would've been the cherry on top.

This class is phenomenal

We signed the fastest player in the state (Stokes 10.4 laser timed 100 meters at 6' tall), pulled Speed, hung onto Wyatt & Beal and signed the best class in school history, and some people are complaining about a dud NSD...

I'd venture to say that Solomon will be one of the last big fish from in state that Kirby misses on for quite some time.

I love this place.

That's fair. Kirby is killing it on the trail. If he can get the team playing half as well as they are recruiting, we will be golden. That said, there will always be kids in Georgia that want to go somewhere else. As long as we can keep retaining 50% or more of the top players in state, the roster will be elite for years to come.
