Steve Furness did a pretty good job after URI if you assume 4 Super Bowl rings are good.

Screw that...take him if we get the chance. It's hard to believe that may not have room for the #3 OG in the country who wants to play DT.

What frustrates me is that if you're right (i.e. Catalina is good) and everyone else is right about Pittman being one of the best O Line coaches in CFB, then how can we possibly explain his play this year. I don't get it.

Catalina is not left tackle material. Fast ends were just running around him. If we had him at Guard all year it probably would've worked better. My 2 cents anyway.

Totally agree. Wynn is small but quick enough for tackle

Not bad, I guess.

I've never been one to discount somebody because of the college they went to. Some of the all time greats came out of small schools:

Walter Payton-Jackson State University
Jerry Rice-Mississippi Valley State University
Gene Upshaw-Texas A&I
Mel Blount-Southern
Deacon Jones-Mississippi Vocational College (One of my all time favorite players)

Just to name several. I'm sure i missed some really good players. However, we have to admit, that Tyler Catalina does not belong in the same conversation as those guys. But, I also believe it was a mistake for people to say we were bad because we had a LT who came from Rhode Island.

I would say that is reasonable. And you are right. When fast DE's went wide and around, his first step opening up and dropping back to intercept was lacking.

Javier Arenas and Cyrus Jones who were both good corners and returners at bama couldn't have been hardly any bigger than jamayest.

You're right, but I meant CB who played at UGA specifically.

Just playing around with the 247 Class Calculator if we were to replace Devonte Wyatt with Tedarrel Slayton, lose Matt Landers and replace with Nico Collins, Replace Justin Shaffer with Aubrey Solomon, and pick up Jaymest Williams and Markavious Bryant our Team Score would be 312.83 which is above BAMA. Any thoughts? I know this is Disney.

Wyatt for Slaton is a bad trade imo. I also like Landers and Shaffer

This list would make Mickey Mouse blush

Honestly, I really like this class and don't want to replace anyone, just add the best players we can. Adding Collins, Solomon, Williams, and Bryant without losing anyone is super Disney too, but still possible.

I think I'm glad we have coaches who are recruiting based on our needs and scheme fit, not based on recruit score.

Wyatt is vastly underrated as is Shaffer. Landers may not qualify, which would open up the spot for Slayton. Collins, Solomon, and Bryant are who we are hoping to pick up currently so we are in a great place to not have to replace anyone. If we have some more attrition, which is the rumor, we will have more spots.

Count me in the camp that really wants us to land Jamyest Williams. He's just one of those players that I'm not terribly worries about height with for whatever reason. I could end up eating crow on that and it's fine, but I really like the kid.
