Nope. It's pretty much sink or swim. And most aren't going to go talk to anyone about it, either, which is how self-destruction or bad mistakes are made.

Cleveland will be fine. Most people who never played OL or DL don't understand how difficult it is to master the footwork, technique, and mental part of the position(s). Until you really get that down, you cannot play fast because you have a ton of shite running through your head that isn't 2nd nature yet. It can make you come across as soft or slow or timid. It's god damned difficult. It might take 1, 2, even 3 years but he will eventually be very good for us.
So true. Makes OL that start as true freshman freaks both athletically and mentally. Cam Robinson and Tunsil are perfect examples.

Not to mention all the friends you've ever known going through the normal end to high school, I.E. prom, graduation, goofing off, whereas you bypassed all that, are struggling to find success for one of the first times in your life, and can't help but think maybe you made a mistake by graduating early and leaving your friends. I think it's a natural human reaction

OR if the bullshite hearsay rumor is actually true, he may actually be suffering from depression and needs help.
We want to give help to alkie's who pass out at the wheel on Barnett Shoals but a guy who cries everyday is just a pussy to be processed?

Sorry, not all that unusual for true freshman to start on the O-line these days.
Bama,Michigan,Ohio State;Clemson,Ole Miss,Florida and Texas A&M amongst others
all had true freshman starting on the OL.Not like the old days...these guys better
be ready to step in right away.
Big Ben needs to step up and the sooner the better.

WTF happened to the recruiting thread????
Posted on 12/28/16 at 10:15 pm to RD Dawg
Seems to be a lot of smoke around the Robert Beal and FSU visit. Apparently Kaindoh and some of the FSU commits are on him pretty hard down at Under Armor this week. He is going down to Tallahassee for an unofficial for "another look". UGH!

Eh, I wouldn't worry about it. I'm sure our recruits are on him just as much.

In an interview today he maintained that he is 100% to us, hopefully that's the truth.

Carter said the same thing.
Wacky stuff happens.

Completely different situations.

Cleveland will be perfectly fine. If he is crying in his dorm, who cares? I doubt he actually is, but either way it doesn't really matter.
I think people tend to forget that Cleveland played DL in high school, then switched over to OL because he projected better, but he was also pulling double duty some in HS. He is taking the time to learn the system, and after watching him play his whole HS career, I definitely think he will be great for us.
Back to recruiting, what is the latest on Bryant?? I keep hearing different things about who his leader is.

As in Toneil? The guy who would've literally come here if he still had an offer?
Posted on 12/29/16 at 7:39 am to Hullabaloo
Kirby never took his offer away. He just said he would have to wait until the Summer to enroll.
Posted on 12/29/16 at 7:50 am to CantonDawg15
Allegedly. Carter's coach said we pulled his offer and kirby didn't even tell him and got an assistant to do it.
In this particular case, I would probably believe TC's camp more than ours, since we would obviously want to save face and look good while their side wouldn't really have much reason to lie and make up that story.
I dont' know why this has become such an incredible hard situation for people....We were 100% with TC and he was 100% with us right up until 2 stellar RBs that both should've probably left said they were both coming back. Add in the fact we had 2 other juniors come back that we probably weren't counting on and not only were overall numbers tight, the RB numbers were REALLY tight. We simply didn't need 2 RBs in this class anymore, and we went wiht the better of the 2 in swift. That's all.

I really wouldn't worry about it. In his interview he brushed it off like he was just doing it to appease Kanidoh or whatever his last name is
Posted on 12/29/16 at 9:55 am to Hullabaloo
The way it was explained to me was that Beal had Kaindoh come up to Athens for a visit a while back and now he's just returning the favor

I'm still recovering from Richtitis... This time of year I break out in whelps & hives & start expecting the worst...
