I read an article where it seemed that we were in the lead with Lawerence or at least tied with Clemson and UT. He had a lot of good things to say about our OC and he even said its college if I like a school I'm not going to be scared to compete for the job. But that was before he knew we would have both Eason and Fromm.

Man i didn't realize we had so many middle GA people here.

Oh yeah I wans't saying otherwise. Obviously I wouldn't want us to decline fromm in hopes of getting lawrence.
It's jsut a fine line type of situation of having too many good QBs. Pretty much every other position on teh field you can have a bunch of studs and they can all play, not so much with QB.

I assume you live in Warner Robins as well

Can't have enough elite QB's competing to start...once we stop getting them, that's when we start bringing in grad transfers to compete for the job

I wish I could give you more then just 1 up vote. Worries about transfers and kids feelings got us Grayson Lambert after our one QB every other year strategy fell apart.

You guys think we still have a shot at Trevor Lawrence in 2018 with Fromm commitment.
Posted on 3/3/16 at 12:26 pm to BoogerSykes
Lawrence has even said he knows that he will have to contend with tough competition wherever he goes if he wants to go to a good, big program. Tennessee and Clemson are going to have depth charts just as deep at the position as us, doubly so for Bama.

Well, Lawrence is still considering Clemson and they have the nations #1 QB coming in 2017.

Obviously you want all the good guys you can get, but wtf are we gonna do with eason, fromm, and potentially lawrence (getting way ahead of myself, but he is from GA) all at the same time?
Eason plays from day 1 and leaves after 2018 season.
Fromm doesn't get the benefit of a redshirt as Ramsey will likely transfer or take up punting full time and we will need a quality backup.
From takes over in 2019 as a true Junior, plays 2 years.
Lawrence comes in in 2018, redshirts, backups up Fromm in 2019 and 2020, takes over in 2021 as a redshirt Junior to play two years.

Lawrence is too good to redshirt.
But Fromm

But Fromm

The Dawgs just got better at Bama's expense. Fromm looks very solid.

He's going to have to sit behind someone or beat someone out no matter where he goes. If he can come in and beat out Fromm as a Junior then I'm all fricking for it

I do. I am active duty. Actually live on the base.

All of this. The other schools he's looking at heavily (Clemson & UT) will likely involve him sitting at least 1, probably 2 years unless he ousts the incumbent QB earlier. There are a million different things that could happen between now and then at other programs. Fromm is an auto take and a hell of a pickup. While I'm sure it will have Lawrence thinking a little harder, when you compare depth charts, it's not unreasonable to think that he could come in and challenge Fromm for the starting spot. You want guys that are ready to come in and *compete* for a spot.

How to define butthurt? Narrated by: chattabama
What a whiny bitch
quote:
The thing is that Kirby has never coached a game. He can sell shite on a stick and claim it's the best thing ever until the season. After that, most of the recruits will see what we already know. Jim Chaney can't hold Kiffin's jock. Kirby can't hold Saban's neither. The reason we won the title was Saban and Kiffin, not Kirby.

Oh well. I hope he enjoys North Carolina in December.

I think Kirby will have a Richtesque career. He will be at UGA forever but will have nothing to show for it.

the kicker walk-on. May he miss every field goal he attempts.
