Godwin would be a great change-of-pace backup QB.

I agree on this. If we only have 2 scholarship QBs, I have a hard time seeing Fromm as a designated RS to start the season. We'll be too thin at the position to have that luxury.

Chances are high that Clemson will secure a commitment from the top 3 players in the nation for 2018.

Remember that time Derrick Henry was committed to us for over a year?

Just saying February '18 is a loooong ways away. And even if they do get lawrence/xavier, the good thing is it doesn't really directly hurt us unless we meet in the playoffs, at which point I'll be so damn happy I don't care what happens.

Question for the field...

With who we know now that is staying and who is transferring, et cetera, how many are we taking without running into greyshirt issues, and taking into consideration the early enrollees we can back count (how many can we back count) and how many we feel comfortable pushing to 2018 count?

If 1 of Clemson's 2 freshmen wins their QB job, I think Lawrence reevaluates his decision. He would be a RS Soph or Junior at that point by the time he gets 1st team reps. It's not easy to unseat an entrenched starter.

I'd say 28. We're at 19 right now.

(20)Gibbs (DB)
(21)Bryant (OLB)
(22)McBride (ILB)
(23)Warner (ILB)
(24)Bishop (Safety)
(25/26)Speed/Stokes - maybe both? (CB)
(26)Solomon? Another DT
(27)Wilson?

You very well might see some offers floated out after Bowl season. 28-30 would be my guess.

Said he'd have it in no later than 10:45. He's trying to tap as many sources as he can since Wilson is such a quiet kid and doesn't talk to the media much.

UGA rival's biggest insider poster predicted IW to us this morning.

I'd rather him have said UM...it makes me nervous you have a SMALL contingent of guys that to their credit DO have some inside sources and are usually on point feeling confident, and the entire rest of the country and professionals who do this for a living saying UM.

All this does is get my hopes up before the letdown. I hate recruiting.

Yep. And then if he does go UM everyone will want to fire CKS because he's a failure for not getting the kid he wasn't supposed to get in the first place.

With our current top 3 class that will still be beating Michigan even if Wilson commits to them. As many issues as I've had with Kirby, recruiting isn't even close to being one of them, and talent can make up for a lot of management errors.

I completely agree with you. I was really just trying to say that the more talent you bring in, the lower percentage chance there is of us losing that game. Gives us that much more margin for error.

Jake Rowe says he is sticking with Michigan as the pick for Wilson. Another dude on 247 claims that Pittman received the call last night, saying Wilson is picking Michigan. FYI...

This commitment reminds me so much of last years Wilson.... Mack flirted with us and bailed last minute

My prediction: Michigan
