Agreed, not to mention the massive recruiting win over Bama during a time that they seem otherwise unbeatable

Leatherwood would be awesome but dont' we have like a 1% chance? He's a guy you never hear of even having casual interest (at least from what I've seen). Seems like our chances are much higher with Wilson or a JUCO.

I wouldn't get your hopes up, but we have to try.

The JUCO OT ranks are underwhelming this year. We're recruiting the Hayes guy, but he'd be more like a Mark Beard type imo.

Trying like hell to get Leatherwood, Little, or Wilson. We need someone that can start.

If we get Wilson I wonder where we'd put Wynn on the line, leave him at LG or try him out at RT?

I love Andrew Thomas's future but having 2 true freshmen man both tackle spots is a recipe for disaster, and I sure as hell don't have faith in bynum or any of the other tackles we've signed of late who have never even broken the 2 deep.

I'm not sure Wilson is a LT. More of a RT athletically imo.

Leatherwood and Little are in a different class in that regard. Thomas and Demery can eventually play LT but probably not yet.

Bama posters seem to think Wilson might already be a silent to them

There are way too many moving parts and variables to judge a class before it crosses the finish line. Coaches leaving, decommits, and silent commits just to name a few.

As an example, up until yesterday, we would have considered both Malik Herring and Jeremiah Holloman "on the fence." If they'd committed closer to the beginning of February (in your scenario), they would have been considered a win for Kirby. But as it turns out, Holloman has been committed for sometime, and Herring silently committed the day of or the day after Kirby took the job. So that makes them neither a win nor a loss? It's just kind of an unprovable argument IMO.

Any good player committing the day after a coach is appointed is a win for that coach. I consider Kirby recruiting a win for right now

I don't think we are starting any true freshman on the line next year. We still have a couple of big boys from last year that didn't play this year. I'm hoping Cleveland adds some strength this offseason and gets a starting job.

Are him and Eason still rooming together?

Seems like they've always had chemistry and trust.

Flipping Leatherwood would be insane

I think you'll potentially see an OL that looks like:
LT- Wynn
LG- Kindley
C- Gaillard
RG- Cleveland
RT- ???

RT could end up Pat Allen, Kendall Baker, Thomas, or another freshman that has yet to commit. The issue with a lot of current linemen on the roster is that we don't have anyone who is really a true tackle. Potentially, Cleveland could play RT but his future is at guard in the NFL.

Maybe a converted TE or DL.

Rivals have Holloman rated way low as a 3*, wtf. I'm thinking they update their rankings and the Dawgs total points goes up. But the only way we move up is by signing players who are leaning towards the good guys and a surprise or two.

70 overall on 247
98 overall on ESPN
147 overall on Scout
3* not in 250 list on Rivals

One is not like the other

I feel like Rivals prides itself on having obscure rankings just to be different. It's really fricking annoying

Not to be a pessimist, but Leatherwood apparently made his way to Atlanta for the championship game today. And Jake Rowe CB'ed Wilson to Michigan. Not looking good for our immediate starter tackle recruits.

5* OT and Alabama commit Elliot Baker will visit us next weekend, we'll be his last visit before he enrolls.
