You mean we have a chance to be better than 2 other SEC teams? Amazing stuff.

Think of it this way. We get into the tournament and Adkins can beat anyone in a elimination game. Win that and we're in the double elimination tourney.

Its not much, but its something.

Also, just looked at our schedule, and Mercer is 24-6 this year. They've got a damn good thing going for the past few years.

Exactly. Mercer has a better baseball program than we do. Not a good sign.

Which is a bad thing imo, that scenario of yours that has us progressing in the SECT is probably plenty enough for ADGM to retain Stricklin. frick everything if that happens.

Whats hard to believe? If we get to the first round of the tournament, we will wont be playing the best teams in the conference.

What if its one game against Auburn or Missouri to advance, and we have Adkins on the mound.

vs Tennessee-6.1 IP, 3 H, 4 BB, 10 K, 1 R
vs Auburn- 8 IP, 4 H, 0 BB, 8 K, 2 R

He wasnt great against LSU, but thats his only somewhat bad start of the season.

I wouldnt say we were favorites, but we could win that game.

Edit: We're still only going to finish around 25-30 and 11-19 in conference, so its not like Im predicting us lighting the world on fire. I just think we can get that 11th or 12th seed, and beat whoever we face in the one game scenario.

And our reward for that will be getting back alley prison pummeled in the next round by a powerhouse and ADGM having an excuse to keep Stricklin around for another year. Sounds like an awesome scenario.

You realize that the first round elimination game would put us against the 5th or 6th place team in the SEC....right? We aren't beating any team in an elimination game that's 5th or 6th in the league this year. Sorry, but we reaaaaally suck and won't knock off a top 15 team in the country in an elimination game.

Maybe UGA should hire the Mercer coach.

Sitting here watching UGA play Clemson. Is it me or does UGA batters just sit on fastball? I haven't seen enough games, so I could be wrong. To me, it seems like fastball or bust

Oh and our fielding gave Clemson a run in the 1st. We're ranked 262nd in the country in fielding percentage. Awful

Oh it's horrifying to me tot hunk about the kind of team we could be at the plate with any sort of batting approach. We just guess

It's painful to watch. I understand there are a lot of freshman in the lineup. However, Clemson has their 4th starter on the mound and the Dawgs are making him look like Justin Verlander. His offspeed pitch is a hanger 1/2 time and the guys are taking the pitch. I don't get it

Our strategy is basically:

1. Spend time coming up with a bad gameplan

2. Find out the gameplan is shite in the first 3 innings

3. Continue wondering if it's really as bad of a plan as we think it might be the next 3 innings

4. Realize we're 6 innings in and say "frick it, too late to adjust now"

5. Lose by 1 or hope the other team implodes

A grad transfer from the Upstate South Carolina University has thrown 68 pitches of shutout ball through 7 innings. That's right, a pitcher Clemson added to log innings during the week is killing UGA. We really do suck balls. Okay, I'm done bitching

It is clear we have no actual first baseman. We act like we can plug just anyone there and he will be able to field the position. The first 2 runs were on him and the last error on the throw from 2nd was his fault as well. Terrible positioning.

I wonder what the batting coach is telling them. I feel like it is all up to the individual batter to fend for themselves. No patience

So we are supposed to start our series against Mizzou tonight in Athens, only problem is that Mizzou has yet to leave Columbia. They couldn't fly in yesterday due to weather and have yet to secure a flight today. Their other option is to bus it about 12 hours...still can't believe we let these clowns into the SEC.
